The real question is why people think that multiple layers of firewalls make them more secure. It is confusing. If your first firewall blocks out all incoming traffic except port 80, and the NEXT firewall blocks out all incoming traffic except on port 80, what good does the second firewall do?
Maybe it each firewall, adds another "REALLY" protected.
1 firewall. I'm REALLY protected from all ports but port 80.
2 firewalls. I'm REALLY REALLY protected from all ports but port 80.
3 firewalls....
I really couldn't agree more. I had been doing my own taxes every year until this year. I had always been right on the verge, may $100 back, maybe pay $100. This year, we were building our house and I knew that our taxes would be a little more involved. I figured them out, and thought we would get around $2400 back... I thought that was a lot so we paid a local CPA $150 to file for us. We got a check last week for $6800. I'll not do my own taxes again. It's just not worth trying to save $150.
While I agree with the sentiment of your comment, how is it any different than getting music off of P2P? I have a radio, don't I? I could have just as easily recorded the songs off of the radio broadcast...
I know that quality of downloads from P2P are generally right on par with CD audio, but this is just a "for instance".
But what command to send!!??? Sleep. Sleep... Data... Sleep.
What's the incentive for the anti-virus company? There in the business of keeping you just well enough to still need them...

A number such that: Mr = 2^n - 1 Where Mr is prime. SO for instance, 3, 7, 31 For n = 2, 3, 5 2^2 - 1 = 3 2^3 - 1 = 7 2^5 - 1 = 31
IT was really only a matter of time. I'm surprised that these types of attacks haven't surfaced sooner.
