    Sounds like you have quite a plan for the world bud...who would be in charge of all this? You? Developed countries have low birth rates, so your dumbass tax idea would basically tell people in India and Africa who are already living at basic sustinence levels to give up their food money so your ideas can be implemented.

    How about leaving third world countries alone? The west has been sticking their noses in every aspect of "world development" and the only result is that they are getting screwed over year after year by the supposed eloquent, well-intended people like you who love to tell them how to live their lives...all done probably on a $2,500 Mac.

    You know, I've been hearing these kinds of announcements from the solar panel industry for over 5 years now. Revolutionary technologies, breakthrough announcements...blah blah blah. Costs have not gone down substantially and I still haven't seen anyone breaking the $1/watt barrier, not unless you buy the panels by the pallet. I will believe them when they deliver.

    Exactly, which is why legalizing this stuff would bring more stringent quality control processes into the manufacturing of the drugs. It would also prevent government from just confiscating people's property as they are doing in this instance.

    It's all billing data in a modern country, Germany, with a 30 year data retention limitation for many financial/legal documents. I am sure it could be done if they really wanted to do it...

    Gotta love the punitive vs retributive approach to justice in the West. Why not make the guy work towards paying back the victims instead or locking him up for 7 years and forcing the victims or us the taxpayers to pay for his food, clothing, heating, cable and housing?

    This is another example of whackos in government run amok. Why not let consumers decide what to buy and for what purpose? During the winter I leave a small 40 watt bulb on in my well house to prevent the pipes from freezing...it gives out enough heat and it's perfect for that application. Now I will have to get a space heater causing me to burn even more electricity even when turned on the lowest setting.

    This is absolutely idiotic...for government to ban a specific appliance. Almost as idiotic as banning people from owning and smoking a plant!

    That's a good point, but again...just because "law" authorizes or prohibits an action, it doesn't mean the law is necessarily and morally justified.

    Maybe you are right, but did anyone every thought to see the day when the Department of Homeland Security would have the authority to take over dns zones without warrants or explanation?

    Don't say "never" when it comes to government censorship and coercion. If they have the power, they will use it.
