  1. Why not? on What Can Yahoo Do To Compete with Google? · · Score: 1

I'm just wondering why Yahoo! and MSN don't offer a similar ad service to Google's Adsense. The program is making Google a ton of money, so I don't see why more online companies aren't trying very similar programs. Just a thought. Google Advisor

  2. Not a big deal on Google Adds News Personalization · · Score: 1

I really don't see this news page customization feature as any indication that Google is starting to lean towards Yahoo! style portalization. They have made it pretty clear that they aren't into the portal business, or interested in creating a fully personalized page like My Yahoo! I think it's a simple user-friendly addition to Google News, and nothing more. I'll start getting worried when you can add news and weather to Google's homepage. 3. I disagree... on Is Google Breaking Their Own Rules? · · Score: 1

I really don't see any clear evidence of "keyword stuffing" on that particular webpage. And I don't quite see why Google would be interested in stuffing a page like that - they can manipulate traffic to any webpage they wish, including their own. It honestly looks like a fairly normal webpage to me, but that's just my opinion. Google Advisor

  4. A change in the Index on Google's Technology Explored · · Score: 1

Has anyone noticed a lot more forum and blog threads having higher rankings on Google since about early February? Perhaps it's just me, but the Index seems cluttered with these threads of late. Brad,

  5. Google playing catch-up? on Google Weather Service And GMail Improvements · · Score: 2, Interesting

While looking through all of the recent services Google has added, it occured to me that they really haven't come up with anything original - I mean, all these new services, weather included, have already been nearly mastered by Yahoo! It almost seems like Google is playing catch-up with Yahoo!. The question is, are they taking away resources from their foundamental goal of building a simple, powerful search engine, in order to create these fairly unnecessary additions? Google Advisor

  6. good question on Google Donating Bandwidth and Servers to Wikipedia · · Score: 1

Like most corporations that reach a certain size, Google has undergone a lot of criticism and seen a lot of envy from small would-be search engine start-ups. But you have to realize that there is a reason why Google is so successful - that is, it has provided a service to millions of people who have found it valuable. In addition, Google does its job very well.. providing billions of sources of information to millions of people every day. There are always going to be people who criticize big corporations like Google, and perhaps at times they have good reasons to. But most of the time the "evil empire" syndrome is based largely on misinformation.
