How did you accomplish that? It takes about 45 minutes to transfer 100 meg files over a 100Mbit/network....snip... Oh, "It's not designed for sharing large files" even though you can right click on a folder and share it pretty easily.
Not to play devil's advocate, but there are home users out there.
Yes, I'm one of them 'home users', and I can transfer 4GB files (a DVD iso) in much less than 45 minutes...
Oh well. I should not be too hard on people. Some guys who know nothing about avoiding mal-ware could rebuild an engine. I can change starters and alternaters, but that's about it. I guess we all have our priorities.
Yes, true, but along with knowing how to avoid mal-ware, you know how to use google. Therefore, I'll bet you could figure out how to change an engine:P
Yet again, MS is blaming the format for OO.o's failings. Hell, I don't like OO.o much myself. I like ODF though.
I am in the same boat, only since I use office so much at work now doing composition of manuals (tech writing), I decided to give OOo another shot, and I have really enjoyed using.....enough that I installed it on my computer at home again.
The ODF format, I find, is much better than MS's and I like the features OOo has when using it....not that they couldn't be put into MS Word, but microsoft hasnt done so.
Until Linux rules the world or Microsoft produce a 64-bit version of Windows that actually works seamlessly, I think 64-bit instruction sets are overrated.
Wake up, Windows XP x64 is about 10x more stable than the 32 bit counterpart, at least in my experiences with it (the past 6+ months). When it was first released it was, of course, difficult to find proper drivers, but thats not necessarily M$'s fault.
You can't credit the mp3 player market to iPODs, that is just rediculous. The mp3 player market is there b/c time has progressed and people are tired of having to have every CD with them to listen to certain songs. More people are on high speed internet, therefore more downloading, etc.
It's not just b/c of the iPOD, just b/c they have a large portion of the market share means nothing more than they sell a lot of products.
Everyone (at least that I have talked to) who has owned an iPOD as well as a ZEN has said that the ZEN is much nicer than the iPOD (the newer ones at least), and, you don't have to put up with shitty ass itunes and DRM issues. With the ZEN its drag, drop, listen. Yes, I have used both, and chose the ZEN over the iPOD not just b/c of the DRM shit, but because I just like it better.
Now if only there was a magic way for all ID3V tags to just work....
I don't necessarily agree with that statement either, but not for the same reasons many others probably don't. It might be a bad time to try to start a long term company online, but if you have a one-two year get rich quick idea that will most likely work what do you have to lose?
The Zalman vf700 and vf900 series I believe will both fit your card and are GREAT coolers.
I've got a 700 on my 7600GT at the moment, works great (over 10C drop in load temp) and its so quiet I don't even know its in there.
Have you tried quick time alternate?? I dont know if the codec for it is any different than just using mplayer with the regular quicktime installation or not...
I wondered the same....recently the mods mod everything down in the beginning, then the apparent intelligent mods read all the comments and get it modded back up to where it belongs. Idiot moderations I've seen lately have actually made me MetaModerate more than the link at the top of the Slashdot homepage does by far.
Besides just copying programs, what Open source will do a lot of times is provide the 'same' program but with more functions, a better interface, a SAFER program, or just the fact that its open source so that, if you are inclined to do so you could edit it to be just what you want.

Umm, there is no such thing, that is blasphemous.
And I'm American too.
Yes its a blog, but Intel has never fudged shit before? Rumor is the Intel chip was on a 64-bit system while the AMD chip was on a 32-bit system.

He's obviously smoking something more powerful than your sig...
How to obtain HDTV quality porn without getting viruses. If you can do that, you shouldnt need to do anything else with your computer.

Oh yeah, this is slashdot, follow the horde or leave, I forgot individualism is shunned.

'hore' made it sound better anyways

Shit, and I already went and cleaned out my start menu to see if I could get better frames in WoW....

They already have, they post dupes in case you missed the first one!! Then, sometimes they post dupes of the dupes!
