  1. Re:Bigger Screens good, Wider Screens bad on Get Ready For The 20-inch Laptop · · Score: 1

To me widescreens seemed like an unworthy novelty, till i used one.... This way, i can have the primary window (browser, txt editor, what ever the fuck im using etc etc ) open full height, at standard 4:3 screen width, then in the remaining 200/300 pixels have 2/3 scondary apps on the right, Like a media player video window, rss feeds, new mail notifcation. trillian, xfire etc etc, stuff that isnt absolutely nescesary, but that is useful none the less. Plus it means that i can have a large quick launch toolbar on the right, an it doesnt obscure my main window. So, i changed my tune after using a widescreen laptop.

Why are you shuddering at that thought? To me it seems perfectly accepatable, that in a highly tense situation, you go out of your way not to make matters worse. I'm not for a second saying never take stuff out your pocket, dont wear a coat in summer, or never have a rucksack blah blah blah.

That way your life's easier, other passengers lives are easier, and so are the lives of the police. Seems common fucking sense to me.

I can see what your'e trying to do there, but hee wasn't saying that you fucking halfwit, he was saying that the police would be far more careful/suspicous with anyone with a backpack, or any one doing what the police deem to be suspicous. Every thursady in london at that time, the police prescence doubled, and everyone was visibly on edge. If it was me, i would be going out of my not to look suspicous.

And do you think the fucking police go out of their way to searchinnocent people? Imagine being on duty, on the underground, on a thursday at that time.. You'd be suspicious of everyone, thats your fucking job. Thats what theyre being paid for.

Man, comments like that really piss me off

Many users will not buy a PC without the Intel Inside logo.

I have seen this many times. When supplying a laptop to a customer not long ago, we were looking up some specs, and there were 2 options, one an AMD 2800 Sempron, and the other a Celeron M 1300. All other specs were nigh on identical, including RAM, HD and battery life and price.

Now, after 20 Minutes of me explaining that for what he wanted to do, the AMD option would be better, all he could say was: 'I'd still fell better with a pentium'. Even after explaining the difference between this Mobile Celeron and Current P4 chips, still the same reply.

It just worries me that in even when presented with facts (higher clock speed, larger cache, greater efficiency, generally *better*) that intel marketing makes people wary of other options.

    Bloody Marketing, makes me sick.

Yeah, he does. I mean, he spent time in a jail cell for trying to pay with legal tender. Say that to yourself a few times and see how ridiculous this whole situation is.
A large settlement and some media exposure regarding the obscene stupidity and fucking idiotic excuse surrounding this debacle would go some way to ensuring that this shit doesnt happen again....

At the risk of beating a dead horse, I'll reiterate that buying a CD for one good song is even more overpriced (looking at price alone) than any DRM'd music.
I can't help it, I know I shouln't bother even saying this, but if theres only one good track on an album, maybe you shouldn't bother buying the piece of shit.

i'll have to agree that yes, schools are fucked, and ive worked in schools for around three years. However, youre 'Schools are supposed to serve business and the economy' statement, is pure BS, unbe-fucking-leivable. Schools can and should be so much more. I was one of the few people who loved school, and knew i loved it whilst i was there. Its a shame more people didnt, and wont have, the same experience.
