Omg... you live next door! How's it going, neighbor? You should really cut the grass! Seriously though, I'd like to read the ToS and privacy policy... but I won't put anything personal there either
- You can also navigate to that site in your normal browser and save the resultant file (XML file) - Or you can log into the site and go to the Settings Page > Export / Backup Bookmarks (HTML file)
Microsoft realizes that fragmentation is a problem, and in Windows 7 (like the OP is using), there is a scheduled task to automatically defrag. I haven't changed my scheduled tasks, and mine goes off at 1:00 am every Wednesday.
Too many people use 4 or 6 character passwords on their banking that they share with other sites because of password overload.
I've had at least one bank/credit union enforce short (like 6-8 characters...I've forgotten) MAXIMUM passwords. Needless to say, I don't do much business with them anymore.
mod parent up. I am far better at most games (esp. FPS-types) by using a keyboard and mouse. Perhaps this is never because I had a N64, Playstation, or XBox growing up...I had never honed my analog stick skills....or perhaps the keyboard/mouse combo is just easier to learn and master.
AFAIK, everyone who has a job. we have taxes withheld from our paychecks as well, but we have estimate our expected exemptions... then whenever the tax year comes to a close, we have to finalize these exemptions and such and such. So the tax return is basically a required adjustment
They could also order the mob to leave. What are the chances that they tried that first, it failed, so they got lazy and arrested the source of their attention rather than arrest the mob?
try BugMeNot next time. (just looked on bugmenot for gdgt) Crap, gdgt is blocked from bugmenot. well, you can use this for other websites that you need to log into on a one-time basis
financially, that's a really bad idea, as your credit rating will quickly enter the toilet. You raise an interesting question though. From my experience, student loan websites often have a way to change up your payment plan...usually look for a link entitled something like "I'm having difficulties paying back my loan."
Immigration law isn't supposed to be fair. There are unequal quotas for immigrants from different countries. Why aren't you complaining about the unfairness of that? Why is it you only complain about unfairness when poor brown people walk across the border?
sure, i highlighted the mexicans ("poor brown people," as you put it), but i don't care what your nationality/race/favorite-rock-band is. (you could be canadian, british, chinese,..) go back and do it again LEGALLY. I'm not saying that the quota-by-country thing is fair...if you don't like it, then change the system, don't let others cheat it (by coming over illegally).
if they came across legally or were refugees that's fine and dandy. if they ford across the Rio Grande in the middle of the night without going through the proper legal channels, then yeah, i have a problem with that. i live in the States and have a couple friends who got married to "foreigners"... and it was a long, difficult process to get their spouses to become citizens. they endured the process. it's not fair for all of the border jumpers to magically come live in the states or become citizens...they should go through the process as well. they cheat the system.
i didn't know either, so i looked it up -- it's the/. firehose quality filter. When you're logged in, you can see the popularity color on the left side of the summary heading. You can also increase/decrease this rating. See screen cap. Also, when browsing the front page of/., you can filter based on the color...see top-right of screenshot. The rating colors are ROYGBIV + Black. Red is the highest (most popular), black is the lowest. submitted articles initially have the color rating of blue.
I had seen the color filtering before on the front page, but never looked into enough to find out. I learned something new. Hope you did too!
When one of the big selling points of OpenOffice, among people I've talked to, is that it looks and feels more like the Office they're used to?
you mean....besides the whole free (as in beer) thing?
that being said, i use both office 2003 and 2007 at work, and as an intermediate/advanced user (depending on the app), i still prefer the UI of 2003...oh and the screenshot of the OO.o prototype looks like crap IMHO

Windows 7 (like OP) has a scheduled task by default to defragment the disks at 1 am on Wednesday. problem solved.

awesome list! how did you compile this? based off of EULAs or a packet sniffer or..?
Even now, my company is just getting around to piloting IE8, and only because the inevitable rollout to Windows 7.
It must be nice living on the edge! We just got IE7 about a month or so ago at my work!

for me, this is moot, because the only show i record on my vcr is at 12:00 am!
Duh...the proportional fonts have been locked up in the dungeon!

legally, i'm not sure, as IANAL.

I'm guessing there are several news organizations on TV that would be willing to do that.
oh, you mean CBS

Again, definitely an improvement.
There. Fixed it for you.
where are you seeing these "rating colors"?

I'm sure the web site in question has been blacklisted by all the major DNSBL lists by now.
One can only hope!

I've seen those spiders. The sharks with lasers have got nothing on those spiders. Hope you have a nice insurance policy for the sharks!
