If these guys still took a large paycheck they would be dumping 50% of that cash into nifty government projects like missle defence and the war in iraq instead of into their business. Since they offer a really nice stock plan to all employees and the stock is doing well they are basically reinvesting in their business through a nice tax loophole. It also gets one of the average 2 - 3 weekly obligatory google media mentions out of the way without launching a new product.:)
Oh come on. He used 2 dollar bills not pennies or food stamps. Hardly provocative. Blaming this guy for this is like blaming a rape victim because she was dressed hot. Yeah she is looking for a response but if someone is a nut job was she asking for it? And yes he is the victim of a crime he was wrongfully detained and could file charges.
In a post 9/11 world he most frightening thing is non-standard currency wielding terrorists!
Actually I heard that in order to get him to confess they had about five or six sales folk surround him and offer him the extended warranty over and over and over.
I wonder how he views his regular ediorial article on the ama site is different from a blog. How his credentials make him a more valid contributor to the web than my aunt thelma.
I don't smoke but if I received a bill for back sales tax on online purchases from out of state I would refuse to pay.
Most tax as far as I know is levied against items sold in the state. Is the online service is located in your state you will pay tax otherwise you are not required to do so. Unless the state is taxing not on the purchase but on the shipment into the state of specific items. They should check their tax laws to see how it is written.

He could have done this a bunch of different ways if he wanted a private chuckle. He could have had virus call any number even a number at a public place where he could see it happening. Set it to happen at a particular time.
He didn't do that. He had it call one of the few places the would make it certian that the police would come after him. He had it call the police.
If it had called the local Denny's he could have sat there and watched and after it was all over most people would not care to persue it.
