ANYTHING about the internet. For most of them, the internet is probably AOL. For some of them that may be more literate, they still have don't know as much as many slashdotters know, or have the knowledge that slashdotters wish they had when voting on this bill.

  3. Re:What does cringely see as Apple's "platform"? on Google's Love For Small Businesses · · Score: 1

apple's platform is simplicity. ipod - the best-selling, easiest to use mp3 player on the market with a clean/ simple look to it. mac osx - a great, easy to use operating system with a very clean/ simple look to it. apple hardware - easy to use, GREAT integration with the OS and again clean/ simple look to all their products. i don't know if "platform" is the word you were looking to use, but here's your response.

  4. word? on Google's Love For Small Businesses · · Score: 4, Insightful

you would really rather have a couple people own big companies and small businesses be non-existent? that would generate the smallest percentage of rich/wealthy people in the united states, leaving the rest of the people (more than 99.9%) in the middle/low class. i guess this would be fine if it didnt sound stupid.

  5. Re:is 30 mins that significant ? on Intel Launches Centrino Duo Notebooks · · Score: 1

30 minutes is a big difference considering how much better the performance is. It performs that much better, has faster memory, and the ability for so much more than the original centrino processors. These things also shrink laptop size down 20% - 30% and run even cooler than their predecessors. Only 30 minutes difference? I'll take it and I can see Intel getting only better in the future.

  7. Re:Compatibility on Apple Backing Away From FireWire · · Score: 1

IEEE 1394 uses peer to peer to transfer data which is consequently significantly faster than USB 2.0, although when transferring small files this shouldn't matter too much, as for hard drives, external optical drives, etc. firewire is definitely the way to go for iPods, i would say firewire is better but apple's iPod custmors are probably mostly windows users, so they figure it saves them money and shouldnt upset their customers
