  1. Re:Why is this sophisticated? on New Targeted E-mail Attack Hits Business Execs · · Score: 0

Several executives at work received the BBB email. It wasn't actually an exe file, but a word doc with an embedded object inside the doc. The embedded object also used a pdf icon graphic. Still kind stupid to click on a pdf in a word doc, but some people did it because their boss sent it to them to find out what it was.

  2. EAC & Hydrogen Audio Forums on Best Practices for a Lossless Music Archive? · · Score: 0

You should really look at http://www.hydrogeaudio.org/ to answer tons of questions. I personally am using EAC with a React add-in that allows me to rip to FLAC and AAC at the same time. Tags and organizes in folders all at the same time. The nice thing about EAC (or Exact Audio Copy) is that you know you are getting an excellent rip without listening through your hundreds or thousands of tracks for quality control.

  4. will the majority care about web 2.0? on Saving Democracy With Web 2.0 · · Score: 0

i hate to seem this cynical, but how informed are most voters? Are the majority of voters web-savvy? To really be effective, someone will have to take the information out there in web 2.0 and figure out what and how to mass-communicate this information.

  6. not comparing apples to apples..uh nevermind on iPod Owners Not As Loyal To Brand As Mac Owners · · Score: 0

It doesn't really seem fair to compare the loyalty of people who buy the hottest gadget item in the world to a user base that has been fanatical regarding a product through the best and worst of times.

  9. Re:My copy on Mac OS X Tiger Released and Analyzed · · Score: 0

You really should be able to run Tiger on that Imac. I installed panther on my roommate's Imac DV special edition and it runs it great with a gig of RAM.

Umax did a horrible job of migrating drivers from os 9 to osx and also windows 98 to xp. i dropped my umax and upgraded to a nice pro-sumer level epson.

We just had our personal best at work. We brought a new satellite office onto our network. Officescan found one computer with 6,000 infected files. I think it was a dedicated porn downloader for the office.

  11. Maybe they will model it like DirecTivo? on Tivo Signs Deal With Comcast · · Score: 0

As long as it is as useful and easy to use as direcTV's Tivo, then they should have a winner on their hands. DirecTVs doesn't have all all the bells and whistles that a series 2 Tivo does, but everything it does do, it does right.

  12. not apple's style... on Apple to Buy TiVo? · · Score: 0

I know Apple buys companies and acquires technology, but these companies are always smaller, under the radar companies. When was the last time an Apple acquisition made front page news? Apple may not always really create everything they market, but they want it to appear that all these things spring forth straight from Cupertino. But, it is hard to not get excited about these two companies talking. They both want to be revolutionary companies. And, who doesn't want the underdogs to win?
