Also, let's not forget that a bunch of highly educated engineers and scientists chronically out of work is a dangerous element to have laying around.:-)
They won't be laying around for long. China will be glad to hire them.
I agree with you wholeheartedly. By deciding to work for a small start-up company after college, I chose to make make as little money as I do, and don't expect anyone but me to get me to a more livable income level.
Moreover, I see, and would feel, the direct, *negative* effect that Obama's proposed tax plan would have. The owner of the small business I work for will sometime in the next year or two cross that $250,000 threshold. If he does, even by few dollars, his taxes go up. If they go up more than the corresponding increase in revenue, my pay will likely go down, bottom line. I'd end up about the same, because I'd be getting a "refund" (read: handout) that taxpaying, American citizens will have to finance. I don't like handouts, and I certainly disdain the idea of taking handouts from people that don't know me or my (minor) plight.
On the other hand, if his taxes stay the same or go down, I know for a fact we will add another full-time position, as well as another intern slot (hopefully, I'll get a raise too!).
I agree with D Ninja. I first laughed at your comment, then read it again and nodded. I tip my cap to you, sir. If only more more people would recognize the difference between doing well and doing good.
Yes, but that is becoming more and more popular, especially among the younger generation. A text message, for example, is seen as far less invasive than a phone call. Even worse, replying to a text in an environment where one would not make a phone call is not seen as rude or disrespectful. Just because it is a useful tool does not mean it should replace phone calls.
What is wrong with this guy when he sees email, the most easily ignored form of communication of those he listed, as more rude and invasive than tracking someone's travel?
Now that would be convenient. Let's say you're shooting a deuce and the gToiled detects THC. The relevant contextual ads can direct you to the nearest head shop, or maybe Taco Bell or something. For an extra quarter, Google Maps could give you walking directions to the nearest shady ally to possibly find drugs or get mugged!
Congratulations on your amazing ability to completely disregard any notion of "innocent until proven guilty". By your logic, we could be saving a ton of taxpayer money and dispense with this whole justice system thing we have in the USA. Charge 'em and lock 'em up.
I'm not sure if you've ever been to the Playpen, but one of my college roommates was from Champaign and went the Playpen for his brother's bachelor parlor. They were there for about 20 minutes before they left; he said it was the seediest place he'd ever been in. I'm willing to bet the only reason the case went straight to the grand jury is because it was a police officer.
A trackball is the only way to go. And not one of those painful thumb ones either, those are only good for making your thumb and wrist sore and swollen. My personal favorite.
When I stay at a hotel that does not have free internet access, I tether my 8525 and use it. And on occasion, I need to download a linux distro or something like that (nothing copyright infringing, of course) and I'll use a torrent or emule. 3G speeds, but LowIDs in emule. I use it sparingly, haven't gotten a letter or anything like that.
The KWGR614 was the single worst router I have ever used. VPN, chat, P2P, and any other application that required other than port 80 never worked, it liked to drop connections for no reason, and has received not a single firmware update to date. At least Newegg was nice enough to give me my money back so I could buy a Linksys. The only success it achieved was setting the bar extremely low for this new open source offering.
Very well spoken; I feel your pain. The problem is, most people look at that three-legged stool and figure that those beliefs must cancel each other out, leaving an apathetic atheist sitting on the floor.

Windows Mobile? That gets you many PDA's, in addition to mobile phones.

What does stoned mean?
... Nope, one hasn't been invented yet.
"No fair! You changed the outcome by measuring it!"
