Yeah, the theme is kind of weird (maybe it's related to KATE kind of working), especially the buttons in the upper left compared to the ones in the upper right of the screen.
Hopefully the drivers will be the only thing that are made to work with Linux from HP. I hate how OEMs in general add 20 desktop icons for "great offers" to Windows.
OpenOffice only offers spell checking, not grammar checking. However, there is talk of a Grammar API that could allow grammar checking for all languages.
Turning off ActiveX is not an option for some places. If they are tied to a webapp using ActiveX, they can't just disable it. So it's possible to lock IE down a decent amount. But doing this breaks the very stuff that ties people to IE.
Of course it's going to be expensive when it first comes out. Most new technology is.
