I've been looking for some clear statement that says I can make a copy of a movie I have on VHS or DVD.
Thats because you should be looking for the one that says you cannot. Activities are legal by default, not the other way around.

Your protocol (sp2pp) would have to work differently than BT, because BT sends chunks from arbitrary places in the file. Streaming needs the chunks to be ordered. sp2pp would need to work different. Ill bet you there is 'yet another abandoned p2p project' that 'does' that on sf.net.

Did they have the right to express their own political opinions whenever they wanted without fear of reprecussions? No, they most certainly didn't, and by large, us in the west have.

    Two things:
    1. Rights exist independently of whether they are recognized.
    2. I would not call "and by large" recognition.

Screw marketing power. VS.NET can suck my balls. I enjoy making software, and my toolchain is important to me. If I cannot use tools I like, I will find a job elsewhere that lets me use them, or start my own company, or teach, or make some quirky free software and ask for donations. Either way, if you suck the pleasure out of programming, I refuse to program. It is not the only job in the world.

Thats a feature the 'minimal' window managers for X have had since just after time began.

but since it is a feature of a software that runs on Linux people will go nuts over it and call it usefull 3D even if its nothing but glitz and wizzbang

All the real linux nerds will scoff and say its a waste of resources. then they will hit 'ctrl-A n' and make fun of you on irc.

Is there such a thing as a reverse class action lawsuit(RCAL?)?

    Imagine this:
RIAA files an RCAL against the class of people who "have traded copyrighted files on the internet without permission". RIAA wins, because they are legally correct. Then you run ads on TV like:

"Have you traded songs on the internet? You may be entitled to compensate up to ONE MILLION DOLLARS! Call Schwarz & Lloyd! (374)867-5309. Call now and gets whats coming to you!"

People call, RIAA laughs until it cries about how stupid people are.

    Who thinks people would call?

    heh, read the commas differently:

Unix is the free software of the Web.
Sun made Unix the world standard. (Note that when has not been specified)

That takes it down to one falsehood.

Be very liberal in your definition of Unix, and its not nearly so false as you claim.
