Their paranoid CC processor REJECTED my credit card because of my country. YES country.
Their help about it certainly gives one country name, "we don't accept credit cards from certain countries like Spain" Meaning? No explanation. I guess my country and Spain are blocked as crooks?
I wouldn't post this message unless I had a reply from their customer service.
I am not totally sure but I launched dist utility after installing this update, log window flooded with wrong users, permissions. Especially files updated by this install.
Go to Applications/Utilities (Apple+U in finder window) and launch disk utility, click repair permissions.
In fact, its a good idea to do it once in a while.
Well I asked about that long time ago, they called my phone (nokia 7650, series 60) being OLD and I should buy a NEW PHONE.
I wouldn't touch anything coded by people in that manner.
I like WAP/WML protocol and find lots of sites offering wap sites. If it changes, I would go and straightly buy Opera to my "old fashioned" phone since it works perfect and developers actually respect to people's devices.
Owning Opera 6.x and 7.x licenses for windows version, I bought Omniweb for OS X.
It was pure native OS X application thats why. Also thats why I'd never install, use Firefox. Especially after seeing my posts go down just because I critiqued it on slashdot. An application with such userbase/profile goes nowhere.
I'd agree, I would use it on opensource os'es and windows os'es.
I don't think Opera for OS X is that bad but they need a LOT of publicity for Apple users. In mac only user world, believe or not, Opera is UNKNOWN. I don't speak about people having windows etc machines, I speak about regular mac users using only OS X.
You need advertising Opera people:) Also if reading my post, close this tab as this is Slashdot and Firefox mentioned in story;)
What was market share of Netscape (4.x, closed source) when Mozilla decision was made? Where Firefox begun? %2? %3? I hope it goes well on windows since its finally a decision at right path.
You must be a clever guy, much more clever than me since I will ask:
"What has amateur coders with geek fantasies made to Netscape brand to go under 1% levels?"
and dive under -1;)
I don't know if you can get into the beta's forum but please check if you can. Beta testers are AVERAGE users and they look fairly happy about the "new netscape". They aren't fond of geeks telling they are stupid and should use firefox last time I checked.
Well, best is to try I'd say. I am really, really impressed.
Being a mac convert for 1 year, I didn't test latest free version (AVG 7) but it was the one hunted all those evil trojans on norton 24/7 running machine.
Secunia is a very well known and respected IT security company.
You somehow didn't make full system scan for a long time, HTML help application isn't very much used, demo launched it and your clever AV finally figured the infected file.
It happens. Won't even mention a friends machine running Norton AV for years and poor guy updated it everyday on 56k modem and I uninstalled it, installed AVG free and System was like a damn Virus lab.
I won't suggest any other antivirus or comment about Sophos like companies since I don't want a off topic AV fight.
I remember a guy got proof on his.sig that his EVERY POST being informative and somehow defending Opera browser was modded down by a guy (single guy) having mod points.
I wish I didn't clear my history.
Thats what this place came to:)
Prediction: Apple will ship excellent working h264 codec, movie industry will adopt it and we won't have to buy new decks for more quality dvd movies (e.g. if we watch on PC/Mac) and people here will flame it being closed source and will suggest Ogg Theora.
Seems by posting his story to slashdot, developer slashdotted himself in all ways including baseless trolling by geeks (?) accusing him of all spam they get.
Now you learned a lesson which Real/Helix people learned a long ago and not submitting their progresses etc to slashdot:)
Maybe its in house beta (or final whatever) test copy?
Generate random mail addresses and test extreme conditions? Also if it works, use that screenshot to show how powerful it is.
I am not developers friend or something but I can sure imagine why since I have a coder friend coding opt-in maillist software for huge online store, tested EXACT SAME WAY.
Somehow, on this story, I felt like I am at download.com comment trollheaven.
At least you could buy.

It looks like a -real- garage company, beware.

Let me give an example. Lets say you own only 128 mb of ram and using p2 233. You complain about memory usage and swapping on forums of both browsers.
Typical firefox/mozilla response:
"Hahaha! 128 mb! p2 233! Are you living in 1999?! Go buy a new pc!"
Opera response:
"Go to preferences, disable that, disable this and disable RAM cache"
Enough difference?
Opera is well and alive, will soon hit some expensive cars thanks to their joint project with IBM.
w3c schools are for web developers. In general, whatever works in Gecko, it works in Opera too as its STANDARDS compliant.
BTW, did you know entire OS X Mac browsers except IE for mac reports as "gecko" with a clever trick?
There, how Omniweb looks to Slashdot
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US) AppleWebKit/125.4 (KHTML, like Gecko, Safari) OmniWeb/v563.34
"Like Gecko". Safari.
I must admit you are a good troll, comparing browser stats at w3c schools which is used by developers is priceless.

I checked that site long time ago. I don't see single artist is paid 1 cent even.
Come on. You actually think we legal cd etc buyers cares about RIAA or its threats?
Dear AC,
Lets speak after Mozilla correctly renders Slashdot.
BTW, Netscape 7.2 (whatever latest official on osx) shows Slashdot fine.
As stated, OS X, licensed Omniweb user which uses Safari rendering...

It has already been done. I use it all the time on OS X instead of TIFF.

I really don't understand why the camera etc companies doesn't adopt it.
oh yes its offtopic!
I got OS X here only but it seems the parent was confused and was blaming Secunia for installing a virus to his machine.
So, I replied to that.
Well, best is to try I'd say. I am really, really impressed.

Its Czech coded, no fancy gfx like Symantec but does the job.
For commercial installations I'd suggest it, also I'd suggest F-Prot which is a legend already.
Karpersky can be real real bad on some configurations but I'd also suggest it AFTER trying http://www.karpersky.ru/

But they link to that Lindsay's site at story...
Must be joke than.. I fallen
Is that real even? Lindsay Rohan like girls read slashdot and even submit stories?
:)
This is it! I am subscribing!
I licensed thinkfree http://www.thinkfree.com/ since it was friendlier with unicode as its a pure java app.
Its a office suite, I only use word processor portion of it. Launches in 5-10 secs which is funny considering its an advanced java application.
Its $50 or something.
I first thought about Apple Works but thank god I checked web about it and read about the nightmares with international chars etc.
Well, in fact its not Istanbul quake but known as that.
We lost everything. Well, we have a very very good operator, Turkcell GSM but at one point, they were useless.
TR ham radio guys showed up and practically handled all communications of disaster area.
I think it must be same in USA etc, some major stations are assigned by goverment if some major disaster happens.

I was flaming about that god damn iPod thing.
As Apple G5 only user, I really got disgusted to see iPod because of that pyramid (whatever) crap.
Sorry if misunderstood or it looks that way.

It can't be a big issue. If scammer uses any sort of Credit Card (even LOGO), report to Mastercard and/or Visa.
;)
If uses Paypal, I bet they don't like to be named with such a scammer too...
Its just 3 mails, imagine his face when he figures what kind of shit he get himself into when army of lawyers knock his mail and laugh.
