"How ugly and/or simplistic they are"? Maybe you should spend more time working on the content of a web page instead of putting up fancy graphics and your complex tables that take 5 minutes to render because your WYSIWYG had to use them to get that layout you wanted, or the 9 pages that have to load up in all the frames you made with FrontPage Frame Wizard. Read ESR's HTML Hell Page and learn a thing or two. By the way, you have all this time to criticize our web pages... where's yours?
Who the hell cares? If this issue was so important, you would have heard about it from somewhere else rather than Slashdot. This Melissa virus affects windows users, one of which Rob isn't, so he shouldn't have to post stories to tell all you morons not to read file attachments from strangers. Slashdot is run by Rob Malda (and a few others), so let him censor what he wants. If you don't like it, go read the "uncensored" crap at wired.com or news.com.

That might work, but what if Joe Applegrower got apple.com before Apple Computers did? I highly doubt Apple would stand for not having that prime domain and thus a lawsuit would be filed
oh, i see.

Who the hell cares? If it's never been on Slashdot before, it's new news to everyone else.

telnet to rs.internic.net, then type 'whois a'
Whois: whois a

Luckily the root nameservers still work...
(11:45am)(jcs)(tty7)(~) whois internic.net
[rs.internic.net]
No match for "INTERNIC.NET".
