The plumber installs one toilet. The bathroom is now only authorized for use by one person. If anyone other than that one person asks to use the bathroom, it requires reauthorization. If your toilet ever leaks, you can only repair it once, unless you've de-authorized the toilet before the leak started. Otherwise, you're required to purchase a new toilet before using it in that bathroom again.
If you move, the next person to use your house has to pay for authorization to use that toilet.
In the end, it all winds up a steaming pile of crap in one way or another.
Make it so someone picks one up, and is checked out and gone within a few minutes. Less time for them to be standing there thinking about the purchase, therefore more likely for them to make the buy on an impulse.
I really think it would depend on whether or not the CD had a EULA printed in the booklet. If it did, then technically you would consent to its install.

Last time I checked, open rebellion against your country was treason.
Yet without those historical 'lawbreakers' (read : Revolutionary War Soldiers, Founding Fathers, Continental Congress), we'd still be a member of the Commonwealth.
You could use the same argument for both your ISP access, and why not with your car? Why should I pay for an engine that can do 150 if I'm only going to do 80?
