    there are scripts that can scan for the vulnerability. I'm amused that many major banks, credit card companies and a certain well known pay-your-friend site (at least a couple of their URL, not all their services) have neither acknowledged the bug, nor patched it.

    Maveriks has openssl version 0.9.8y, which is too old to be vulnerable. Macports will give you a vulnerable 1.0.1 version that last I checked earlier today had no patch.

    nonsense, why would a cnc machine, for example, need a new driver after running fine for 10+ years? nothing changes!

    there is not sufficient natural gas (itself a fossil fuel) to replace all of coal or oil though I agree would be wonderful idea to replace as much as possible while cleaner energy sources worked out.

Iraq wasn't stable then and is not stable now, factions killing each other in bloodbaths while we left and which continues until now. we caused far more Iraqi civilian deaths than Saddam with our pointless war.
