    HL2 and CS:GO are meant for different DX versions.

    HL2 being originally DX 8.1 and CS:GO being DX9.

    Switch to HL2.exe = DX8.1 mode, nuts insane framerate increase.

    Rendering capabilities are pre-set by application name in the drivers.

    There's your answer.

    My fiance swears I fix things just by being present. GPU refuses to output display after several restarts, he calls me into the room, suddenly it works. Cockatrice is updated but won't show new cards in the database even after totally killing every process and restarting the computer, call me in and as soon as I'm in the room everything works as intended.

    They will build the system for you. In fact, they require that they build the system for you in order for you to get ANY warranty service.

    It's worth it. For just a bit over $100K you can have a 192 thread 1TB RAM 12GPU quad-cluster loaded with 24 SSDs.

    Actually, Doctors can tell that bill to go fuck itself. The state is not a medically-licensed entity. It has no right to practice medicine. Judges that make medical decisions are explicitly practicing medical fraud.

    And the medical doctors have every right to file suit and/or the medical association may levy fines, as it is firmly within their jurisprudence.

    Please try again when you possess any form of medical licensing and have read the rights which are afforded to you when you obtain said licensing.

You should be suing and forming a class-action against the state, despite what your counsel has said (they don't want you to file because if you refuse to settle and win, you just cost them a fuckton of possible future work. They are NOT going to look out for your best interests. If they did, our legal system would not be as fucked as it is now.)

    Any qualified BOFH can work around a HOSTS block in about ten seconds (just change the update server DNS name. Instead of update1.microsoft.com flip it over to something that gets randomized every time, like safundsfuh.microsoft.com, or just force direct connection via IP instead of DNS. HOSTs was NOT designed for security, it was designed for easy identification of computers on a network so you didn't have to memorize IP addresses of a machine on the LAN.

    You must have never updated. Until XP SP2 that was one of the most common modes of failure after an update.

    Let's put it this way,

    Any major policy change (porn, drugs, stuff oriented towards social progression) that has decriminalized or legalized various things (expressions, usage of plants, etc.) has always seen the rate of incidents related to that social measure drop. You add in support for those things (no jail for heroin users, just some rehab, therapy for porn addicts,) and the rates drop even further.

    The reduction in harm is absolutely measurable every single time.

    You have an entire COUNTRY that did it (Portugal and drugs) and look at what happened. Usage rates on the hard drugs actually fell, rehabilitation rates went up, net positives all over the board.

    I couldn't cite any cases, as I was standing there in the court room awaiting my own sentencing, oh almost 15 years ago.

    Dude got 54 1/2 years sentence for a crime he did not commit (and was in fact physically incapable of performing as he had lost his penis in a car accident years prior. We got to see that in the court room.)
