Just make your own pickups from a nail, bell wire, and a bottle cap, and just carefully glue or stick-pad it on. Cheap, removable to sell "in original condition," and a good way to learn some guitar electronics construction.

Considering a large portion of my skeleton is made of titanium, and I run an entire shipping dock at a large distribution center by myself (that's manually moving 30+ tons, BTW, with musculature to match) they can try. I can run right through most of them in ways a linebacker could only dream of.

I have two.
Anyone remotely skilled with a heat gun could do the part swap.
They can get it done. MXM does have a standard for fewer-layer PCB implementations and a micro slot.
