This is the same type of mindset that has kept putting Republicans and Democrats in office over the many years in the US. I vote libertarian every year and it doesn't work, why, because people are afraid of wasting their vote and so they don't vote that.
How can I make the stretch of comparing that to Windows/Linux, well the same can be said about software. Most non-geek people don't use Linux because the software can not be found easily in stores where they can get a pretty box with a pretty documentation to go along with it. And the reason for that is because most commercial programmers write for windows because it's the only "sure" thing in the realm of popular consumers. I know I will probably get modded down for this comment, but it's true. If you don't think so, go to any popular store and look at their shelf. You might find Linux Distros, and maybe one or two software titles, but you will bombarded with windows titles.
Average everyday people will not buy an OS that they can't find software for on the shelves (even when you tell them they can get it for free online) and major software companies will not waste time writing software for a platform that they can't make tons of money on.
It's a catch22 situation unfortunately..
Something like this has been available for quite some time.. just not for the PC.. all you need is an XBox, a spare controller, and a little time.

Basically instead of rumbling, the controller sends out a small electric shock. Basically the same thing for those sadistic enough to want to try.

Farmer O'Brian is complaining about his pigs flying out of the pen. He's pretty sure they are flying towards the gates of hell, since it is nice and cool there ever since it began thawing from it's recent freeze.
And stay tuned, when we get back we will tell you of a new product on the market that actually removes the dihydrogen monoxide from water!
Or better yet Natalie Portman, Lucy Lawless, and Winona Ryder involved in some three way action.. mmm.. ahem.. what were we talking about again? My mind just went numb:-)
I miss the days when Nintendo was on top of the game. Now you can hardly find any games that are worth a flip to play on the system (excluding the Zelda, Metroid, and Resident Evil series). It's just a shame.. and what is up with that freaky controller? There's a good thought for you, when you are desiging your controls, give us something that we can reach all the buttons without having to move our hands all over the controller.. the game cube controller is worse then the original XBox controller (that's just sad).. *sigh* please give us something worth while this time.
I am happy to hear that I can play my game cube games (the few that are worth owning) on the new system though..
