Thanks for that Paul Graham
"If you really want to be a critical reader, it turns out you have to step back one step further, and ask not just whether the author is telling the truth, but why he's writing about this subject at all."
(I guess it's not plagarism if you re-write it. Must be an english major)
You act like this is a new thing.
Politicians have always been beholden to money. If money wasn't involved, we wouldn't need politicians at all.
The only thing that is new is that big media can't censor these articles anymore, so now we hear about all the corporate sponsorship, lobbying, etc. Before the internet, you'd NEVER hear about this type of stuff, because big media didn't want you to know that it owns politicians.
It does. Just get firefox, and download the Flashblock extension.
It turns every flash item into a button you click. If you want to see a flash item (like a website built with flash) you click the button. All the flash ads on the website will show up as buttons. Very easy to identify and ignore them.
Because DRM is inherently flawed!
You can't encrypt something and then give
it to someone to use without also giving
them the encryption key!
If you can play it, you already have the key. Hackers just figure out the key (or avoid the
whole thing, like this program) and release the
content.
Now, the cat is out of the bag. I doubt that the
music industry is going to pull their tracks
because of this. This is the future of music.
Excellent reference to American Psycho. I'm always suprised that more people don't come out with "Hey, that Bruce Wayne guy is a freak."
