    i may start an unlicensed radio station using low power of course and just broadcast for 30 minutes to an hour every evening, garnering my news from the intertubes, paying close attention to foreign press from the EU & Canada, might as well since the media in the USA all seem to all sound the same anyway...

    if the data is encrypted then only those that know how to decrypt the data can read it, everyone else has no idea what that data is, then if it is generic data about phone types and numbers of phones then why bother to encrypt the data, i have 3 phones of various brand names (Bell, AT&T and GE) (now everybody knows)...

    you can hear NIST's WWV transmitters on 2.5, 5, 10, 15 & 20 megahertz AM (amplitude modulation), i set the clocks with my shortwave radio...

    games that are no fun lose interest and the user gives up in frustration, intrigue and challenge the user and you will build LOTS of userbase...

    even though the PS2 is obsoleted by the PS3 i still have a blast on that machine, i love first person shooters like Medal of Honor Vanguard, Call of Durty 3 (both of which i rolled the credits on, Grand Theft Auto (Vice City is my favorite) which is kind of a tough game to complete but regarless is lots of fun, on GTA VC go to Hyman Stadium when the clock shows 20:00 the door opens and you can go in and do either a crash derby or stock car racing or dirt bike obstacle course, and at Sunshine Autos go to the lower level to the right there is that one garage door that does not open - next to that garage door is a list of cars wanted, steal those cars and when you compete the list you get a bonus and a new list gets posted...

    do you really mean that rox draws the desktop (icons & background and/or wallpaper)? why have rox panel too when ICEwm has a panel? unless you need/want two panels. i use ICEwm & rox to draw the desktop too as they make a great combination...

    i do keep KDE installed to for friends & family to use, the KDE-Games package is a favorite of mine...

    i would go for the cheap PC with 2 or 3 large harddrives, and since it is just for backup purposes you dont even need to go with RAID, and should get by with a PC that uses IDE disk drives (3 harddrives and one CDRW drive - in case you want to burn something to CDR) install something small & simple that wont take up much disk space like Debian or Slackware or maybe FreeNAS and just connect it in a LAN configuration, then use rsync or some other similar back up method...
