They intentionally grabbed the SSID and MAC addresses. They inadvertently grabbed non-encrypted data in the same packets (the default setting in the open-source software package they used).
What are those manufacturer's other options? Last time someone tried to muscle in on it (Asus EEE/Linux) there were rumours of financial punishments, etc, for not being exclusively an MS manufacturer. They likely can't afford to make that gamble again with the tiny profit margins they make. I'd love to see someone team up with Canonical or Mint, but it's not likely to happen.
True. Of course, I also remember Palestinians cheering in the streets after the attack. Almost everyone in the world could be better behaved and more humane.
I agree. I think it's a beautiful building, and really like that the parking, etc is underground. I still think it's Steve Jobs tribute to himself, but he has earned it, to a degree. A corporate culture for social responsibility, etc can be fostered in better ways than the architecture of your building.
Apple generally doesn't care much about infringing on people's desire to do certain things. This might be one of the few times when their control-freakery would be well placed.
Out of curiosity, I just tried a few flash games on an Android phone. Maybe I was just lucky, but the first 3 I tried worked fine. Crappy games, but they did work.
I think many of the problems are related to compiz and my graphics driver (Integrated ATI, open source driver, I believe). but not all. I prefer having compiz compositing running as I use a lot of the features, and I also use Docky, I may need to find alternatives. As for hardware, I'll be looking at System76 for my next laptop. At the very least I won't need to pay the Microsoft tax.
Unfortunately, the problem with 11.04 is not just Unity. There is an abundance of memory leaks and many unstable features even when running the 'classic' Gnome desktop. There are many unstable features around it as well. The weather icon crashes after a day or two. Network manager stops being able to disconnect. If I run an rsync to back up my home directory wifi eventually freezes up completely. Xfce looks nice, but I'm not sure how many problems it's actually going to fix. I'm looking at other distros as well, I'm just not sure which one to go with at this point. I may go back to the last LTS, or even 10.10, which for me was the best behaving Ubuntu release yet.
I'm not sure. The courts in the both US and Europe seem to be giving them every break. I'm very surprised how far they've got in blocking the sale of the Samsung tablet when prior art exists which the iPad looks nearly identical to.
Apple fandom seems to be getting so close to the point of being a religion that perhaps judges that are fans should recuse themselves from related cases. I'm only half kidding about this unfortunately.
Yep, and see how far you get getting information out of most of the other cloud based services. I work with someone who had to break down and pay extra for POP access to his email account so he could get his data out. Google makes getting your information out easy. They seem to take the approach that you'll _want_ to use their services.
Last I heard, Apple said they were planning on coming out with their own proprietary payment system. Perhaps this is why the rush to implement something by the telcos as well.
Try doing some quick changes to code on an iPhone or iPad. With the current restrictions in place and the popularity of these devices, I can see these kind of platforms having some value on occasion. Also for shops that are trying to virtualize desktops, although I still think forcing that on developers is a mistake.
Still can't 'check in' to locations on Latitude either. They seem to have most of the rest of the stuff working, but it is an inconvenience if you really want to use Google+, and are an Apps user.
In high school and college, the women who slept with all the guys who _looked_ like Neanderthals were the ones most likely to have disease. I always thought they were slutty, but apparently it was some sort of inborn behaviour to improve our resistance as a race.

The legal system is a tool. Apparently this statement also holds true for many of those using it.

No, someone would like unrestricted, undetected access to make 'modifications' to the most popular server OS.

I'm very much looking forward to this mission. Isn't this how we discover the monolith?

I always feel guilty when I download Oracle software too.

Sorry, responded to the wrong comment ....

It's not a personal attack, and it's mostly a joke. If you feel that it's a personal attack, it may be less of a joke than I intended.

You can also recommend to everyone you know that they not buy Apple products, and explain why.

You know, now that the government has dealt with all of the environmental problems that are of greater scale and importance.

You could also just click Start and type Idle, and utilize the "Gnome-do" functionality that they finally have.
