Actually the Mythbusters were trying to take out a wooden boat that was a couple hundred meters (that part I'm not sure of). They wanted it to catch fire.
This guy is concentrating the energy and melting stuff, not actually setting anything on fire (except the clue board).
Setting fire to a wooden boat far away is a lot tougher than melting a rubber ducky.
Now I don't have to change my email address to my gmail one. The thing I most dread about changing email addresses is updating everybody else.

And by passion I really meant programming + video game passion. Too many people in college, at least my college, picked computer science for the money.

I figured everybody know about this little trick? Having wired "expose" this practice just means more blog spam of us all. :sigh:
