  1. Re:PA anyone? on Psystar Claims Apple Forgot To Copyright Mac OS · · Score: 1

Thank you for bringing that to my attention. I got the words turned around. If Micro$oft sued Pystar, we would be defending Pystar. It looked like all the replies I read were defending Apple for employing tactics similar to Micro$oft's. Again I hang my head in shame............

  2. I find this whole conversation funny on Psystar Claims Apple Forgot To Copyright Mac OS · · Score: 1, Insightful

I find this whole conversation funny. Why? If it were Micro$oft suing Pystar, everyone would be lining up to defend them, not the other way around. What makes it so different? Individuals have been trained like Pavlov's Dogs to growl and show hate whenever the word Micro$oft or Winders is mentioned. I do not personally like Winders (I use Linux for everything but gaming), but I do believe it did play a role in standardizing computers. Have we become "toys" for slick marketing to not apply the same standard to both companies? Thank You (He steps down from his soapbox and hangs his head in shame. He defended the Antichrist after all)

  3. Believe when I see It on SanDisk, Music Publishers Push DRM-free SlotMusic Format · · Score: 1

I'll believe that the record companies will do this when I see it on the store shelves. Given their track record, there has to be a catch somewhere.

  4. Oh No!! Not NASA!! on NASA Does a U-Turn, Opens To Private Industry · · Score: 2, Interesting

It was bound to happen, it had been brewing since the draw down of the Clinton years, and they are finally admitting it, NASA is mainly a non-government organization. Just like the military, which has yet to truly admit it (but they have in a way), things are mostly done by outside contractors or civilian employees making more than they could if they worked for the military doing the same job. Or tax dollars at work!!

  5. Does anyone find it odd and funny? on Jack Thompson's Letter To Take-Two Exec's Mother · · Score: 1, Insightful

Does anyone find it odd that someone who against violence uses it by way of a letter? It has always been a conundrum to me that people protesting war, violence, nuclear weapons, etc... seem to resort to violence themselves. Maybe I think too much, but wouldn't they be more effective if they lived what they preached? Just a thought.............

  6. Re:They brought piracy on themselves. on BusinessWeek Takes On the RIAA · · Score: 1

I remember those days. At the time, manufacturing a CD ran from $3 to $5 each. The rest of the $25 that a CD cost supposedly went to the record company and the artists, and if memory serves, the artist got about $2. During the days of records, artists were getting so little from their products that they would go on tour just to make money. This was all happening as the price of recordings was increasing. Then came Tom Petty. He fought his record label over the high price of music and was semi-successful in having the prices frozen and lowered in some cases. Then when Metallica started this mess, they were asked if they ever made illegal copies of music, and they said YES! This whole mess reminds me of Disney bring a lawsuit against the manufacturers of VCR's because you could record "The Wonderful World of Disney" back in the late 70's and the controversy over cassette tapes when a tape recorder was finally priced where your average consumer could buy one.

  7. Re:I hate remakes on Blake's 7 Remake In the Works · · Score: 1

I agree on the comic book movie craze. I do think that a re-imagining is a goos thing. We can take a show or a movie, especially one that was popular or attained cult status, and perpetuate them and bring them to a whole new audience. In my opinion, if a remake is done well, it pays homage to its original.
