    But the cablecos just made the Cablecards a pita to install (some requiring a technician to come out to your house to install a simple card), and making the slot so hard to implement that only a few companies like Tivo even tried to support them, then adding in shit like SJV to make them useless for certain channels, then charging RENTAL FEES for the cards. The rental fee was the ballsiest move of them all. And they got away with it too, of course, because lobbyists and campaign brib....contributions.

    It's been my experience that the censorship on Reddit is what actually ENCOURAGES the trolls. A lot of posters start out with reasonable disagreements, then get so tired of getting moderated for simply disagreeing with the accepted narrative that they start to get pissed off and just start trolling in anger. It's a weird form of rebellion against Reddit's shitty system.

    Only if by "inflammatory bullshit" you mean "anything the majority on /. doesn't want to hear." Try criticizing some of the sacred cows around here without using AC and see how long it takes your karma to tank. Here's a hint: Not fucking long.

    I used to avoid posting AC, until I got tired of dealing with having poor karma all the time just because I think FOSS is overrated.

    Bullshit. Posting AC is the only way to keep your karma from tanking every time you disagree with the conventional groupthink on this site. Good luck keeping decent karma around here if you criticize OSS or Linux and can't post at least some of it AC. Too many people think a troll is anyone who disagrees with them.

    I used to be fairly liberal myself, but the SJW's have driven me out of the movement. As a white, heterosexual male, I no longer feel welcome. It's the same hard lesson that Bernie Sanders is learning every time he tries to have a rally anymore. Poor Bernie hasn't realized yet that you can never appease a SJW, no matter how much self-hatred you express at you own evil-white-male-heterosexualness.

    How about for starters, we define clearly what does (and doesn't) constitute "sexual abuse and harassment?" Because in the United States, both are already considered not only social unacceptable, but also illegal.

    The problem isn't in getting people to agree to the premise that "all sexual abuse and harassment will be considered strictly unacceptable." The problem is that SJW's would redefine both of those terms so broadly as to include almost all social interactions between men and women.

    WTF is "We should try to be nice to people" such a controversial position?

    Because that's NOT what he's saying. He's not saying that everyone should be nice to everyone else. He's saying that this is a particular problem with men and in male-dominated fields, with no mention of the fact that women also have social problems and that there are also problems in female-dominated fields.

    It's just a polite variation of the typical SJW "White heterosexual males are to blame for all the evil in the world" worldview. And a lot of us are fucking sick of hearing it.
