    i didn't say talk, or even comment, i said bitch. if someone writes an application, gives its use away for free and provides the source code so people can improve upon it, it isn't my place to expect them to improve upon it in the way i want them to. it is up to me to improve upon it or accept it as it is. also, it isn't aristocratic to create something and it belong to you.

    i'm not a fan of the pim/osx interface gnome has become any more then most people i've talked to. now that enlightenment has reached its goal e17 i thought i'd give it a shot. it is really nice. i like ubuntu. they are doing good things for people that are not just fed up with microsoft. that being said, i think making the desktop more like os/x is worse. but hey. it isn't my project and it is a free distro so it isn't my place to bitch.

    who is providing your vpn service? is it udp? i had warnerbro's cable. i have all of my movies and music available from home to me at any time. it steams over a udp connection so i can listen to MY music in the car and at work. sometimes i would bring up a movie in the break room and we would all watch it. one day they blocked the port (shit just suddenly wouldn't work). so i changed it. needless to say we had a port dance until they eventually blocked all of my udp traffic -- except for the bullshit dns redirect they do -- and splashed my browser with a message saying i was torrenting. i'm surprised your provider doesn't do the same shit to you.

    i've gotten lost some place. does this mean that a free to use picture posting service is claiming equal copy right ownership to pictures that are freely uploaded which then provides the pictures as proprietary content to proprietary content providers so said proprietary content providers can add the pictures to their proprietary content in order to profit without the freely usable posting service giving equal profits to the originator of the originally free content?

    i agree with you that is it pointless. mostly because this statement, "we could soon see networks that are capable of petabit or exabit transmission speeds", incorrectly uses "we". "we" being large ISP's and people in academia, maybe. "we" being the people getting bandwidth to our homes, completely unlikely. "we", being the later in most U.S. locations, can't even get fucking fios in our neighborhood!
