Considering the guberment's position is total control over everyone, I don't see why not. It would also insure they are not allowed to vote. Now that I think about it, making the school part of the prison system might qualify as being enough to take that right away from the kids attending. Better not tell let the Gov of Texas read this. He'd probably be able to get it passed.
Don't be looking over my shoulder. Your costing the media companies a billion dollars. Seriously, who's ass are they pulling these numbers from? Most here don't remember taking singles to friends houses or the sock hop and listening to music. The music industry didn't claim to be loosing a giga-billion dollars per second then. If it wasn't for sharing music nobody would have bought their records. It was, and still is, part of a social connection.
I don't think disinfectants do a very good job. Not to mention bacteria build up resistances to disinfectants and become more dangerous. Tossing them into a super heated furnace sounds like it would be much more difficult for them to adapt.
I wonder if it could be painted on the surface of a room that needs to be decontaminated instead of relying on temperature or an antibacterial agent. The size of a bacteria might be too small though.
dregev, I would like to apologize for my post. It was totally inappropriate. You guys create the browser so it does what it is that you want it to. Sharing it and the tools and the libraries is very nice of you. Again, I'm very sorry for being such a dick.
I'm stuck on the glass part of the article. It is pieces of glass, right? Pieces of what glass? Who's glass was it and what kind of glass was it? Hell, what kind of water was it? I'm mean was Neil having a spritz of water with a good bourbon or was it a gin and tonic. They need to be specific about these things. This is science they are talking about.
ouch! 93 was when slackware 1.0 was out. i didn't get my hands on it until 94 but i fell in love immediately. it was on a cd with a bunch of freeware and open source projects. getting cd drivers cranked up on my machine after the install was the only thing difficult. docs on the cd were seriously complete. even x had a step by step. sound and matrox card were simple insmod to get going. anyway, i have to say Patrick Volkerding new what he was doing long before anyone else did. it had an "install everything" option too. like most people i knew, and apparently you too, getting hold of a drive larger than 200M was not in the budget. it is amazing how much was available for linux in 94! apache was even on the cd but i couldn't get it to compile:(
oops. something went wrong. i don't think it is going to jive with/. the post part of the reply should have been: I'm not sure by "quick code" your joking but... Below is a snippet of code from the testbed of my app. It doesn't have the output tied to the map of lists in it but it is small enough you can see what is going on. A quick descriptions is: it reads packets off the interface. It orders information so it can be inserted into a map of lists called connections. I update the map with the packet information. If the packet is new it gets added. If the packet is a continuation of a conversation the number of packets and amount of data transferred get updated. Regarding the CDB part, every new entry and update completely re-writes the db. Having to update the database on an interface transferring >1G starts to show limitations. Below is pseudocode I hope will help.
start a timer check packet flag determine if it is new or an update if syn flag is true new connection start up is true (I also make check for other flags (rst for sure) but this makes it shorter) then add a list entry for (protocol, source ip, source port, destination ip, destination port, direction indicator, pps, bps) to the map if syn flag is false and fin flag is false and rst flag is false find the matching entry and increment pps and/or bps if fin flag is true or rst flag is true add last info and remove pointer to this entry in the map of lists to check for updating information. if the timer has reached its point move file from memory/write it to disk/create a new CDB

One of the points made, as if it is a positive, is that the intellectual property would not go to a university. The U.S is very a sad place these days.
DNS traffic is easily redirected. Typing in the IP address is definitely a work-a-round but it isn't plausible for someone to know the IP address of every place they want to go. sDNS is possible but, albeit pretty obviously, can be proxied with a MiM attack. What is needed is DNS over another protocol that is encrypted. One of the items on my to do list, and something that anyone can do instead of me, is to create a plugin for firefox that does DNS over HTTPS. I'm a little pissed with Mozilla right now so it is way back on the burner. Feel free to do it yourself though:)
I wanted to see my first dead bird but my dog ate it. Fortunately, he threw it back up. I would post the pictures, but unlike jbrodkin, I don't believe in posting pictures of things that are ugly and broken.
No doubt! I was stuck flying back on a redeye from Mexico city. When I pulled out cash to upgrade to first class I had that sudden feeling you get when you pull out $50, in 1's 10's and 5's, in a convenience store on the south side. Lets just say it was the only time I ever felt the temperature drop in Mexico.
please for the love of all humanity pass this along. don't think this way: the astute will notice a similarity to Microsoft Office’s Office Button: that button is a total pile of shit. the ribbon is a total pile of shit. imho, and anyone who has escaped the one desktop interface prison will agree, the windows entire desktop experience is a total pile of shit. be innovative. don't copy somebody else's shit.
oh, and another thing. the response to the security issues that arose by loading remote xul files should have been met with the same response to loading a self signed certificate not the complete removal of functionality and integration with a core mozilla asset. ie. a pop up box letting the user know that it is dangerous. xul is one of the best, if not the best, assets on the web to date.
first they rip out support for web loadable xul files killing my homemade wiki, and all the content on it. now they are going to take away the url bar so i can't type in, or see, the destination i'm wanting to go to. wtf?!? sooo, chrome...
May the Baldwins help us now!

They must be thinking about the number of new jobs it would create. I'm thinking prison guards, but...
By pointing out that the kids were likely to end up in prison, thus receiving what they need, he made his argument moot.
You forgot to include a link to pictures.
I think I've heard of him. Isn't the "H" in his last name silent?

roflmao! It took science and PPH to finally invent a fresh new blond joke.
So basically Al was slapping the brain upside the head every episode?

Linguistics provides the foundation and formal frameworks for...
Agreed. mikejuk was obviously feeling dyslexic. In point of fact, nobody likes to discuss linguistics. It is boring as hell. :p
