    I'm in my late 40s and over the process of 25 years have re-trained myself at least four times to meet the changing nature of IT, and the fact that empires rise and fall.

    Re-training is an essential part of a long IT career, not an option at all. To be honest, I paid for my own re-training because nothing concentrates the mind like putting a lot of money into essential skills and vocational training.

    The reason why they want more H1-Bs is straightforward - its a lot cheaper. Not better. Cheaper.

    1. CO2 levels are a response to past warming 800 to 1000 years ago, as all of the ice core records testify
    2. Greenhouses do not warm via the "atmospheric greenhouse effect" of suppressing radiation but by suppressing convection, an effect demonstrated a hundred years ago.

    If you want to invoke basic physics, then you first have to learn basic physics

    Its amazing watching people with no scientific ability trying to sound scientific. The glacier is thinning because its surging.

    Another way of looking at it is that the glacier is growing in length rapidly, but then that sounds somehow less scary doesn't it?

    The answer: sea levels have risen (on average) by a millimeter per year since the end of the Little Ice Age. Of course, during the Little Ice Age, sea levels FELL. Sometimes sea level rise appears to accelerate and sometimes decelerate to almost nothing.
