I have never heard it called that before, but here they call it an Alternative Work Schedule (AWS). Not everyone (particularly managers) can take it due to the nature of what they do, but it works out well for those of us who can.

So we work 9 hour days Monday-Thursday, and then eight hours every other Friday. Our team is split pretty evenly between people that work the first and last friday, and one or two work only 4 hours on Friday.

Given that we live in a rural area and its difficult to get to 'civilization' for shopping or other events, this has really improved the quality of our life as a family. I for one like it, but I'll admit it isn't for everyone.

His assertion was that McCain wanted to increase taxes on the poor to pay the rich, that's the point I was disagreeing with.

However, I take exception to Obama saying he would cut taxes. He has had a few years in the senate, and not ONCE has he proposed any thing in the Senate. In fact twice in the last year he voted for a tax increase, one time it was on people earning 48K or more. So I will remain skeptical of this "tax cut" until I see action on it. I'm sure there are many still waiting on Bill Clinton's tax cut in 1992 as well.

News Flash, McCain said that he wanted to freeze spending, and cut the budget in some places where they can. He was on record as such. If you don't realize that, then you haven't been paying attention. Not that it matters, McCain didn't win. But to say that holding taxes in place, is a raise of taxes on poor people just doesn't hold water.

Now, where you might see an un-passed tax, is if spending so goes through the roof that inflation through monetary policy causes our dollar to be worth less. That would be a defacto tax on all of us, but would probably hit the poor more than the rich.

The lie about Palin wanting Creationism taught, and the lie that she was a Book burner is getting old. Do you subscribe to the idea that if you repeat a lie often enough that it becomes the Truth. Palin has sad she doesn't understand the debate, and would not pass legislation to mandate the teaching of Creationism, but if the subject came up, would encourage teachers to allow discussion on it. I don't see how that harms anything at all.

Some of the books listed on that book burner listing were not even published at the time it says she wanted them banned. This is a drummed up issue with no substance. As for the Bridge to Nowhere, she came into office and said she'd withhold her opinion till she heard back on what its implications were. When she realized how much was being spent, and how little it really would benefit Alaska, then she did the smart thing and said no thanks.

Also remember, that while she may have supported Ted Stevens at one time, she has advocated that he come clean with what happened. She has been clear that those who have been unethical should resign, or be removed from office, but rather than jumping on witch hunts she waits until she's examined the facts before stating an opinion. What a refreshing idea, wait for a person to look at the facts before making a judgment. She also contrary to your blog read there, appointed people based on qualifications not party.
