    To be fair..
    most malware available for download on the web is designed to be run on windows
    It doesn't do anything much less run in linux

    Windows is such an easy target for exploit and success, it's everywhere and run by every bone-head idiot on the planet
    Linux on the other hand is most used by advanced individuals and can be very difficult to exploit making it a waste of time for the black hats, it can be done, but rarely successful

    The author downloaded a free version of McAfee 3 years ago as a test/review of their product
    He wasn't a paying customer

    McAfee recently spammed him with the ad in question
    Carefully crafted fear as a marketing tool is the issue at hand here

    Maybe next time you should RTFA before posting .. then your post wouldn't sound stupid

    Unfortunately the youth of today are not old enough to know anything of what reagan was like. All they know is the warm and fuzzy dreck emanating from fox news about how great a humanitarian reagan was.

    4. Waging his famed "War on Drugs" publicly but secretly trafficking plane loads of cocaine out of central America on CIA operated C130 aircraft, making himself and that scum GHW Bush the biggest drug trafficking kingpins on the planet.

    I was once a proud republican, then got over it.
    I still hold many conservative ideals, but believe the rabid right wing conservatives of today have gone off the deep end and into full blown goose stepping Nazi assholeism. Voting republicans today are nothing more than ill-informed ignorant morons that are easily influenced by the lying snake talking heads of fox news and nazi radio.

    Yep, Reagan fucked us up big time. It's all been down hill from there.

    All we can count on today is another republican senator will be found tomorrow sucking dicks in airport bathrooms and/or sodomizing 8 year old boys

    But to do the job right you must also kill everyone at MPEG-LA, MPAA & RIAA. Well, maybe not the second two, but what the hell, any job done complete is a job done right

    Software patents are the main problem here. Our patent system allowing patents based upon conceptual ideas, loosely worded without any specific physical prototype is a recipe for disaster. This will eventually kill off all innovation and advancement of society, art and culture. We are becoming a read-only-culture lead by our corporate overlords

    Thankfully the USA is not the world and the world in not USA territory .. yet.
    Other countries that don't recognize software patents registered by the USPTO is what keeps us free today. As long as other countries have the balls to stand up to the US corporate dictatorship and tell to fuck themselves, we all remain somewhat free to exist as we choose

    Problem being after the flight, what would be the level of damage to the engines from exposure to minute amounts of abrasive ash.

    Can we rely on the airlines to perform a complete tear down of the engines after each flight to verify they are safe to keep in service? Specifically the bearing surfaces and condition

    Would you be willing to board this aircraft later on knowing there is a possibility of engine failure?

    Too many variables here to make the call one way or the other

    Back in the 80's, a KLM flight flew into the ash plume of Mt Redoubt near Anchorage Alaska. It fell from 25,000 to 12,000 feet before the pilots were able to restart the engines and make a safe landing in Anchorage. They were extremely lucky. Volcanic ash is an abrasive and nearly destroyed the engines on that plane.

    Better to error on the side of caution than to have to scrape up the remains of a plane crash with all lives lost.

    Richard Branson believes he should be compensated for losses caused by an act of god? What a pretentious dick!

    All our national wealth is spent on military industrial complex while the nation is slipping away into 3rd world status. The majority of Americans are morons that still believe Saddam was behind 9/11. Education can fix this ..

    We need to redirect our priorities sooner than later. The longer we continue to dick around not dealing with our social problems, the worse things will become. Improving our school system is a great place to begin
