This is part of the reason why I wrote AppSnap. At least downloading and installing applications is faster and automated.

  7. This is ridiculous! on NYC Law Aims To Ban Cell Phones In Theatres · · Score: 1

If a 10 second cellphone ring can RUIN your experience of a 2 hour movie, then you're watching a pretty lousy movie. Either that or you are as impressionable as a 2 year old child.

I can only wonder how these things can create such a lasting impression that someone can actually come out of the theater and decide to legislate!!

My word, if we can't deal with a cellphone ringing right now, we can pass on world peace.

How can you sleep comfortably at night when you deliberately stamp to death the ant that minds its own business? Reminds me of an old game I once tried, "In pursuit of Greed". It sucks to see such nonsense everyday. People are so full of it. So much for co-existance. Why does Stephen Hawking need to give a damn about co-existing with AI when two brains core dump when run simultaneously on the same processor!

    Uhhh... keep at it people.

  11. Crazy on Code Redux · · Score: 1
Its just crazy that I still get hits because of this stupid virus. Just a waste of bandwidth and hdd space in log files.

I just feel that it should be reasonably complex to set up such servers. Not just for M$ which is Plug and Play (BSO.. oops... PnP) but also with linux. For example, an apt-get install of telnetd on a debian system adds the service to inetd by default, no questions asked. I don't know how other distros are like, but the consolation for linux users is that they are usually younger than grandma.

Its really shoddy if different strains of a worm can use the same exploit over a couple of weeks. For the amount of money that is spent in trying to keep computers secure, this is insane.
