Hey, I live in the chicagoland area and not to many seasons ago, we had 18" of snow fall on us one night. Our snow blower was useless and i had to shovel it:). It also gave me an excuse to get a phat 7.5hp monster plow:).
Accually, what I can see happening to some young execs is having there business go under for one reason or another in the next ten years (hey, shit happends), and now, that they're 25-30, they'll have to get there asses back in school and get a regular job like the rest of us.
I got into comdex when I was 16. Just grow a bit of a beard, look and act professional, and it will all be cool. Then again, I went to the one in chicago, not he Las Vegas one. LV are probably the national experts on checking people's ages;).
I got in, when I was 16. I was 6'4" then and grew a small beard. I looked atleast 20. I thought they jhust had the 18+ rule to keep out little kids. I think they need to change it to 15+.
Juno Reactor kicks ass! I code to them, as well as Hallucinogen, a little White Zombie, maybe some Powerman 5000. Sometimes i get out some old 80s Punk and code to that as well.
I remember when I was 14, and was regarded as a "hacker". I woudl just answer no, for the sake of not being mistaken fo rbeing this evil child. Now that Im a Senior in HS (Im 17 now) Our school is covered with AOL kiddies. Poseurs. How do you deal with pretend wannabe hackers? Simple, sell them $20 debian CDs:) I made $200 last year from it.
I don't see how its a bad buy. A friend of mine snagged a nice pretty 400mhz G4, and man alive, he is very happy with it. I got to use it for a while, and man, even with the hunk-o-junk MacOS, it still FLYS!!! Its faster then my 2x458mhz Celeron (or atleast thats how it feels). Hey, if a PC makes ya happy, then its not a bad buy at all.
Every time my system is due for a kernel upgrade, I get baked off my ass, then chug a 40oz, compile it, then take a drive. By the time I get out of jail for the DUI, my kernel is done compiling on the 386 in my mom's garage.

I look at it this way. Apples hardware is 2 year ahead of the x86 industry Apples software, however, its about 2-3 years behind (ex: MacOS). MacOS is outdated, I'm sorry. Each new version is supose to bring it up to par (first it was 7.5, then 8.0, then 8.whatever, and now 9.0).

I sure hope DIPs remain popular. I am an electronic hobbiest and I like the idea of being able to solder things to PCBs :)
