    That's like saying sarcastically that someone's main complaint about a dump truck is that it isn't a Ferrari.

    C++ sucks, it's as simple as that, but it's a necessary evil because sometimes you need the performance, or simple cross-platform mostly-compatibility, and it's still vastly better (in terms of developer efficiency) that C.

    But if you're writing e.g. a commodity GUI or backend server app then Java (or even vastly superior to Java - C#/.NET) are incredibly much better in just about every way other than the above.

    If you look at the net paid taxes as a percent of income, the rich still pay way more than everyone else in all cases but a few aberrations, and they _especially_ pay more than the "most Americans" (> 50%).

    Yes, because windows doesn't have the concept of User Privileges.

    They aren't as fine grained or powerful, I'll grant you, but they could easily be made to be so if Microsoft (or customers) cared enough. The problem is _they don't_ because the real-world security improvements you'll see from something like capsicum are minimal.

    Do you know "people"? Sure, some people are pretty fucking scummy but by and large most people aren't evil. If you took 100 people, maybe you'd find 5 evil people, and 10 people who are douchebags but not evil., 75 decent people, and 10 saints, along with one asshole who can't do math.

    So you've got all these people working in the medical field trying to save lives and you are convinced there's some evil cabal plotting how to milk cancer patients for money? A good percentage of the people doing the research and even the funding have probably lost loved ones to cancer or other diseases they research.

    And what does your conspiracy minded, dopey ass get out of this? That they're sitting around imagining how to milk patients for more money.

    I'm not saying the system is perfect and there is indeed a profit motive, and those 15 douchebags sure can mess things up sometimes but overall the reason there's no cure for cancer is because it's extremely difficult.
