I don't think there's any reason for getting 15gig iPods.
I can get 5gig one for about $70, then why should i pay $300 for 15 gig one which i'll never even use.... you bastard.

  5. No more "All albums are just $9.99"? on Apple Releases iTunes for Windows · · Score: 1

If you check Peter Gabriel or Coldplay home pages in iTunes music shop, they have 10.89 or 13.99 pricetags...

I thought in the first version of iTunes store everything was supposed to be "just $9.99".

What's the point of buying it over there instead of getting a CD and ripping it on you own and to better format than mp3 or aac bitrate that iTunes store has?

The only thing i was thinking about while reading that article is how incredibly annoying it is to write SMS in english, and cycling though all letters again if you accidentally skipped the one you wanted... typing anything more than "i'll be at 8:30 there" seems like sooo much work

And japanese input system would seem even more strange/difficult with all the extra charachters available. How DO they input stuff? Is it more convinient that english sms T9 or whatever it's called?

How hard is it to make money of the servers they sell??
All of the VA Linux computers/server are generally $200 more expensive then the offerings from Penguin Computers or Dell, and they still lose money??? How is it possible?

Then how are Penguin Computers surviving then? Or any other of 100 hardware providers that are featured in Linux Magazine every month???

That's really bad, just think off all the 22,000 projects on SourceForge! Even apache is using it. It's going to be really really sad to see it go :(

... is why would one country (UK) would want to pay lots of money to a corporation in another country (US) for the service that they could do on their own.
I hardly believe there's no expertise on how to this sort of stuff using Linux/*BSD in UK. Remember articles about Linux being used to her highness's website? This way UK would invest money back into their country and create more jobs this way instead of relying on US to do quite sensitive stuff for them.

Thank god this would never happen in US, like investing in the company in Russia (remember the one we had cold war with?) to do crypto stuff for linux filesystem.
Wait... I think that did happen ;-)

  14. Aren't they afraid of being sued? on Aethera Beta 1 Released · · Score: 1

    by M$?
All of their products are direct knock-offs from MS products! Kivio, Kstudio, etc
I know that Kdevelop looks like MS VS too, but they are not just trying to copy it, they improve it, and i like it even more that VS. Kompany on the other hand is just making identical copies of MS software.
Do you think that M$ can sue or stop them from making products that resembles their own so much?

  15. How much artists get from a CD. on Pirates Steal Negative $1,400,000,000 from Music Industry · · Score: 1

I've got a friend who hangs out with KORN (pretty successful band, huh?).

He said to me that Korn had to sign up for 5!!! almbums to get the first one out (it means that they cannot change the terms of agreement and obligated to make more albums).

After making 4 very successful albums they still getting under a $1 for every cd sold (and were making $0 during first 2). They were living in a small apartment during the success of the first album.
He said that the concerts were the only way of profit. But that's KORN, others less successful ones, getting even less than that.

So here u go, if artists are not getting any money from it, why should I pay >$16 for it?
I would buy many more Cds if they would cost less, but I'm just a student with no extra money.

    Is it TNT2/ Voodoo 3000/ Matrox G400Max?

  18. Can we (someone) sue them (M$) ? on Microsoft Clarifies Linux Myths · · Score: 1

    I mean really!

First of all when it talks that using 4gig of RAM is "possible", but it didn't make to the kernel, then they're talking about 2.2.* kernel, right? Then creating swap files more then 128 MB IS possible, although they say that it's not.

They're comparing file system of linux with NT's, so if linux doesn't have journaling one, then NT SHOULD have it (it's comparison/contrast), right? So why doesn't NT have the real journaling fs?

Has anyone heard of OEMs that provide uptime guarantees for NT? Including the times when IIS 4 was compromised, bugs has not been fixed in 6 months (for details search or subscribe to NTbugtraq).

"Therefore, commercial support services for Linux will be fee-based and will likely be priced at a premium."
What the hell are they talking about? What about Linuxcare, VA systems, REDHAT, IBM support?
Try to get that quality service from the MS! Premium price? Unlikely!

No sense on the desktop? What about that slashdot article that was saying about 911 in some state that was converted to all linux desktops to prevent crashing?

Admins must spend "huge amounts of time understanding the latest Linux bugs and determining what to do about them."? Kernel bugs are fixed in less than 12/24 hours, software bugs? just rpm -Uvh them (or use any other binary upgrades, like debian's)! What about NT/Win patch/SP (don't remember which was that now) that was actually removed once because it didn't fixed the problem, it just indroduced new ones?

What about the time i had Blue Screens on my NT WS whenever i was starting Word? The prob was that the printer driver that was issued by Epson (and was around for 6 months) caused NT to hang. IT SHOULDN'T BE THAT WAY!!! Freaking printer should not take the system down!!! It should not have this control over OS!

    I'm sorry i got carried away :-)

Is M$ in any way accountable for the stuff it put on that web-page? Why don't they just start writing stuff completely out of the air? What stoppes them?

    Thanx in advance
