It's like a battlefield out there! It seems like these extortionist had it (have it?) pretty easy, preying on companies who might not be able to defend themselves or afford the people who could help them...
it supposedly will be free, by early May. Whenever that is.see here: http://whatsnew.mail.yahoo.com/
if you've paid you're going to get 2gigs( http://mailplus.mail.yahoo.com/ ).
I think they're doing a good job of "not being evil". People freaked out when Gmail first came out because of the whole we'll-scan-your-emails-to-show-relevant-ads thing. But people aren't complaining too much now with 2 gigs free space (and increasing everyday). Yahoo was all over the 1gig free e-mail but hasn't said much in regards to Google's 2gig offering. They have been getting new products to the market a lot faster than their competitors. It's now mostly Yahoo and Google with Microsoft somewhat lagging behind in the innovation and speed department.
They've apprently had some screening recently and some people didn't take too kindly to it. But then again, they probably weren't big fans to begin with and might not know the "history". You're right in how grilling him about the "spirit" is basically pointless. I'll think of something else.
You always here how other countries implement newer standards or make the technology leaps a lot earlier than we in the US do. I wish we would catch up. I guess that story about downtown Philadelphia getting wired and making it available for all at a somewhat reasonable price is good news but it wasn't WiMax I don't believe. I wonder how much this service will cost after the free period is up.
IBM is just trying to be ahead of the curve. While I'm confident they will be able to maintain relevance, it'll be interesting to see how they proceed from here.
Then it just might be possible. I think they have some advanced knowledge of what the next-gen Xbox could come bundled with or some kind of killer app that is going to ship with it. There's gotta be some reason they think MS could move 3 mil units. That's a lot of hardware.
I think that we'll see some beautiful looking games with the introduction of the Xbox 2 this year and it's only going to get better from there. With the advances in the havok and unreal engines(and the other engines that exist), the next-gen games will become more story oriented and just more fun to play. Especially if you can play Xbox2-ers games against PC-ers , that will just open a whole new experience.
nice...can't wait to hook it up to my (future) PS3 also...this could be used to make some nice portable gaming experiences...
...can I plug it into my (or soon to be mine) Xbox 360?

they're going to be a dvd rental force to be wreckoned with, oh yes. ;)
Point taken. It has to be a solid movie for it to be good, a straight translation wouldn't fare too well.
nope, haven't finished it at least. got it from the library a few weeks ago.
I agree.

How faithful to the spirit of the book will the movie be?
If your video is too poular, they can charge you for the bandwidth it uses...i wonder if they would warn you first...
