When it comes to the Windows UI looking like crap he's right... There really isn't much we can do with it either. I've searched far and wide and in the end I'm stuck using Windows defaults because alternatives look ugly.
As for Mac having the 'cool' developers and Mac looking so awesome, that's BS. If you want to see cool widgets and interfaces, switch to Linux.
Nothin here either (Newark, CA)... My mom yelled at me from downstairs. My friend who lives a few doors down said a bunch of people called him freakin out tellin him to get out of the house. A lot of people I know were disappointed that nothing happened. I live about a mile from water, maybe less.
Oddly the only thing on my mind at the time was how bad it was gonna suck for the rest of the country if a tsunami took out all of our democrats and tech companies.
I smell a beautifull playing field opening up here... If Apple and Intel merge and gear efforts towards an appoach that is closed off from generic hardware, Microsoft could possibly become more AMD friendly and OSS friendly. They're doing away with closed formats in the new Office which is a good step, and hiring players in the open-source world, although that's not enough to praise them like Benny Hinn yet. I see war with many enemies and many fronts opening up here, and no matter what feelings we've all had towards Apple, Microsft, Intel, AMD, OSS etc, it will be good for the end user in the end.
Sorry I didn't realize you were a janitor who lives in the closet at my old high school, since that's the only place on earth where the number of mac's is anywhere near the ammount of pc's...
I'd save up and spend my life savings if they can come up w/ a retarded brain first... Then you can laugh all you want and not feel guilty all day long. Till then, real retards will have to do.
SIXTEEN PERCENT!!!! Maybe it is anecdotal evidence but I'm not pulling from any specific group of users (gamers, designers etc). I know 1 guy who I havn't talked to in a long time who works for a radio station and my ex's cousin who used to dj at raves. At the same time I know other people who work as designers, studio engineers etc who use pc's. I know a million joe users and of all the people I can think of that I've ever met from all walks of life (excluding the 2 I just named), I know a girl who used to own a mac which was broken.
All I'm saying is this 16% statistic sounds like BS unless I'm the one guy who just happens to not know any mac users.
And to those who think I've never had to fix a mac because mac's never break down... Give me a break. Our schools Imac's (the swivel head ones) used to run like crap after a few months, and used to run into their fair share of problems.
I bought a DTR this year. I got rid of my PC last year and bought a used Dell, sold it and bought an Asus Z80K this year.I got a fat hookup from a guy w/ a wholesale license.
For me, I'd much rather have a computer that I can use anywhere in the house, rather than have to sit in front of a huge desk with a loud cpu fan that could be heard all over the house, all so I could play 3d games once every few months. My 9700 mobility is good enough for any games I play.
I don't travel much with it but when I need to I can. I was buying bulky pc's once every year and a half but the price just wasn't justified.
I don't fix computers as a business or anything.
My point was I know computers, what people own
what computers, and that I hardly have come across
anyone who uses a mac in my lifetime.
As for broken macs I do recall one girl who's PC
I fixed because of spyware a year or 2 ago who owned
a broken imac.
%16? Like many of you I'm a computer geek, so I've been around the block when it comes to fixing friends, neighbors, schools, relatives, etc's computers, and I don't know a single person who owns a mac! I know linux users and one guy who owns a sparc box (I used to own one). The only time I've even come in contact with a mac is at my old high school, and they had old crappy ones in Jr High, and even crappier older apple II's in elementary school. Even a neighboring high school which was infected by a worm last year that I had to go from class to class fixing every computer did not own a single mac. I live in the Silicon Valley, and now that I think of it, I know a studio engineer who works for a big radio station around here who I havn't seen in a few years who had a powerbook, and my ex's crazy ass cousin had a G5. Other than that I can't recall a soul who owns a mac.

Wait, Firefox's market share isn't that high yet is it?
I thought half the fun of having a prosthetic limb was giving yourself a stranger?
No no... This one is how NOT to build a mainboard. ECS sucks balls.
ZERO... The 7.0 was offshore... There was a 3.0-4.0 in Eureka

Who cares... They could be using all that bandwidth to come up with a way to microwave a burrito so hot, Jesus himself couldn't eat it.
My guess is that they've planned this with Intel back in 2000 before AMD started raping Intel as bad as they have in the coming years.
LOL, I started scanning through the comments looking for one of these posts... I didn't have to look far.
wtf are you talking about?

Ok were talking %16 percent here, and I as well as many others can hardly name a single person who's ever owned one?

Ya and turn off the fuckin autopause in the ipod firmware god damn it!
IE doesn't work for linux, and Firefox was made big by marketing... Not in the Windows world, and definitly not in the linux world.
Why would an aol subscriber want to change to a netscape.net address when they could get a gmail account?
Oh yeah, because when I think of role models for intellectual property, I'm fuckin thinkin Microsoft... Give me a break
Now I know why we're having so many bullshit articles bitching about how Firefox is losing popularity lately... It's because they saw this coming!
Far from it moron... It's taking over on the Windows platform and is widely used everywhere else.
Nobody cares about Firefox's exploits (that last like what? 2 days? stfu already
