payasam: made of milk, sugar, vermicelli, rice, coconut, cashew, grapes, and some other stuff for which I don't know the English name. made as a thick syrup and is very sweet, sort of a rice pudding (I guess). My mom says she makes the best stuff and grandma says the same too.
I disagree.
Breaking into my computer at home is like going through my dust bin looking for sensitive document when it has only old newspapers filled with my grandma's phlegm and my 1 year old nephew's doodoo.
breaking into my computer at work is like going through my dust bin looking for discarded carbon copies and finding it.
both are breaking in, but they are different, you see?
You can't club 1/3rds of the country into a single 'middle class'. There are divisions even in this middle class - Lower middle, earning less than Rs 10 000 per month, middle middle (really) earning less than Rs 45 000 per month and the upper middle earning less than 75 000 per month.
Anyone earning above that are invisible as they don't pay taxes.
Actually, this is a great idea. While you guys are at it, why don't you go ahead with the US Navy Sonar thing too? Who needs those wildlife, whales, dolphins, etc, anyway?
God has given man this world just to rape it, right?
Well, what is the population of parents that are CEOs/CTOs? Of that, what is the population with 20K employees worldwide? How many of them send their children to public schools? I don't see any of their kids studying with my children, my nephews/neices or cousins.
I might enforce it in my two-bit company, but I can't afford to lose those customers who wouldn't be comfortable with anything other than windows.
Unless the parents have enough muscle power to enforce their offices to use openoffice, this wouldn't work.
Also, to be a loss-leader, you must actually set the sales price at less than the cost of production. I don't think sicrosoft actually sells it at a loss here.
In my opinion, schools must be exempt from all software licenses. They must be allowed to use whatever pricey software they want, free of charge.
Personally, I prefer the model used in Asia.
ceteris paribus, we are discussing about the application that is being taught.
I am very well pleased with what things my children are taught. I just don't want them to lose something because of some battle between two factions of software fellows.
A liberal and a conservative were sitting in a bar. Then Bill Gates walked in. "Hey, we're rich!" shouted the conservative. "The average person in this bar is now worth more than a billion!" "That's silly," replied the liberal. "Bill Gates raises the average, but that doesn't make you or me any richer." "Hah!" said the conservative, "I see you're still practicing the discredited politics of class warfare."
True, true.
India, 20 years later than the 'West'. I expect tonnes of Indians getting sacked 20 years from now and we won't even have social security or dole.
because that is being done in the UK, where homeland security is the bobbies protecting the crown and her jewels.
goo that was earlier called breast milk. I was feeding my nephew with bottled breast milk and he spat it all over my keyboard. still smells.

That's why schools should emphasis on the 3 Rs.

Allright! But, if you are going to teach OSS office products, you must also teach the child about alternative tools available.
OK! What will your child do if he 'starts his career' and finds that he is incompatible with the corporate world?

If Governments don't, private corporations will take it for themselves.
I can't argue against that :(
Atleast the jobs will be retained 'within Europe', won't they be?
