I can see the future... An ad for the next McDonalds pops up as you near the exit ramp. =)
Someone I know was working on a HUD system for cars for a local engineering firm, and they finally stumbled upon a rather obvious problem: polarized sunglasses will block the image. Of course, this is no problem for night-driving aids (presumably), but it might prevent useful HUD navigations aids, etc.
For me at least - I can't stand driving in sunlight without polarized shades.
You corrected yourself to "What is a PMU?" If I'm not mistaken, it's Power Management Unit, in charge of making sure you don't eat up your batteries too quickly and making things like sleep mode work. It has apparently changed a lot with the UMA (unified motherboard architecture) and other aspects of the iBook.
I don't have too much experience with PC laptops, but my PowerBook's power management kicks ass compared to the PCs I have used. I just bought a second battery and it's great going all day without the power adaptor.
The Gateway and NEC TFT all-in-ones look fantastic.. Once TFT prices drop I fully expect Apple to offer a flat-panel version of the iMac, perhaps something like a transparent 20th Anniversay Mac. I'm still drooling at the thought of one of those with a G3 upgrade card.

Hope this helped.
