    Heheheh, use SAR Tool much? I remember those days. Pretty bad when they have to have a special removal tool to get the software off your machine.

    Plus you have to wonder what back doors were created to allow it to be possible in the first place (since other software should not be able to remove your AV).

    And on the OTHER other hand, why is installation ON by default? People don't go looking for Ask toolbar when they download CCleaner, they wanted CCleaner. Why would CCleaner allow themselves to be associated with someone who is the very opposite (tracking browsing and adding cookies) to what CCleaner does?

    (I know the answer, but just adding a corollary to your point).

    I know it's antithetical to Mac users, but I'm sorry where the fuck is the option to allow ONE specific non-App-Store program (after an intensive barrage of warning dialogs)?

    Shit in your bed, then whinge because you have to lie in it. You can't fix stupid, but we've been giving users the stupidest possible options for protecting themselves for years.

    Even in our (Australia's) supposedly modern democracy, politicians can say anything at all to get elected and can't be held to it once they are. And once they're in they can hide behind things like parliamentary privelege and say anything they like without having to prove it's true.

    There is NO true democracy anywhere in the world as far as I know.

    You haven't been burned just once. Every car that's been made with built-in iPod support but no equivalent open standard connector has been made obsolete by Apple, so you've been screwed by proxy via your automaker as well.

    We should boycott this shit so hard, I already have a useless connector in my car and I'll be reminded every time I sit in it that that's Apple's fault.

    It always amazes me that someone at Microsoft's job is to maintain a table of unique error codes for all their software, but it's nobody's job to document or publish that table.

    It's true, he can't possibly close his argument. However his premise is muddied by the fact that he sees this as a 'moral' argument rather than simply one of freedom not to be persecuted for rational choices by irrational people. For example, someone reading bullshit from 2000 years ago literally and calling it 'truth'.

    99% of Christians have no morals. 99% of moral people aren't Christian. Reexamine your premise and try again. ;-)

    Great performance on lesser hardware... it might do, but I will never admit it nor will I care enough to find out for sure.

    I've watched MS destroy performance in every area they've entered. (Anyone remember the MS game Monster Truck Madness?) Meanwhile they've failed to give a shit and have even pushed their multi-tasking operating system back to being a single task interface.

    If anyone asks me, "Windows phones are slow and shit, just like Windows is on your PC." Also they crash more and are more expensive.

    Am I lying? Only as much as MS has about performance... not even.
