The nice thing about it is that you can see random example photos throughout their database that were taken with each camera. It also tracks lenses too, though for the most part it's up to the user to enter the lens data when the upload the pictures (they make it easy to do, so most people do it).
While I don't use Flickr or Pbase, I do know that the EXIF data from my Canon 30D, and my old Digital Rebel, both include the lens I used for the shot, as well as the effective focal length when I use a zoom. This readily turns up in my editing software. I didn't do anything to enable this data - I believe that this is normal behavior for most DSLRs. While P&S cameras may not include this info, it isn't relevant for such cameras anyway.
I bought a Sony KDS-R50XBR1 earlier this year. This is a 50" 1080p rear projector using Sony's SXRD (LCoS) technology. I compared this set head to head with plasma, LCD, and DLP sets at the biggest electronics store in Chicago, and the SXRD had the best picture - even better than the top Pioneer plasma. This technology has several advantages, most notably a seamless picture that doesn't show the pixels, and no DLP rainbow effect.
I will have the change the bulb every few years, but that's not a huge deal, especially considering it was just over half the cost of the Pioneer plasma.
Yes Virginia, terrorism is real. There are Islamic Fascists in the world that want you dead, no you cannot appease them and George Bush did not create them.
Yes, but it is difficult to imagine more counterproductive policies than his for protecting ourselves from them. The only way we're going to stop the bad guys from recruiting more bad guys is to get help from within the Islamic community. But Bush's policies in Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon, etc have alienated Muslims everywhere. And he just doesn't understand why, according to yesterday's New York Times:
President Bush made clear in a private meeting this week that he was concerned about the lack of progress in Iraq and frustrated that the new Iraqi government -- and the Iraqi people -- had not shown greater public support for the American mission, participants in the meeting said Tuesday...
More generally, the participants said, the president expressed frustration that Iraqis had not come to appreciate the sacrifices the United States had made in Iraq, and was puzzled as to how a recent anti-American rally in support of Hezbollah in Baghdad could draw such a large crowd. "I do think he was frustrated about why 10,000 Shiites would go into the streets and demonstrate against the United States," said another person who attended.
Why the hell does anyone need more than their book & a passport anyway?
But they aren't even letting you bring books onto flights out of the UK now. I was supposed to fly from Heathrow to O'Hare today - hopefully I'll get out tomorrow. But I'm not looking forward to 9 hours on a plane with nothing to read but the inflight magazine.
Last Saturday night, I was in a coffee shop in Wicker Park, a hip neighborhood in Chicago. I spotted half a dozen folks using Mac laptops, but not a single Windows machine. In over 20 years of using PCs, I'd never seen that before!
These days, whenever I see someone driving like a moron (weaving, too slow for traffic, etc), I check the driver. Most of the time, they have a damn phone up to their ear.
The original poster seems to think that he won't ever make a mistake, or get caught in an emergency situation, or encounter an "asshole" who isn't as good a driver as he seems to think he is. That's not what I call being responsible for his own actions. With freedom comes responsiblity - saying that only "idiots" with "shit for brains" get in accidents are the comments of someone too immature to driving in the first place.
It's already easy to get a slightly larger Mac Mini with a 3.5" drive, by using one of the external HD cases that are designed to sit under the Mac Mini. Here's the one I use:
I'm a lawyer. I work for a major oil company. I don't own a suit that fits properly anymore (my waist is a bit thicker than it was the last time I bought one, 6 years ago), and the only time I put on a tie is when I take my wife to the symphony.
The idea that suits are back is PR BS, like the original poster said. If you wear a suit to a business function, people will figure you to be hired help, and ask you to bring them drinks.
But I do notice that I see a lot more of them in London than I do in the US. Maybe they've come back there.

This case plus a 250GB 7200 3.5" PATA drive cost me $170, less than a 2.5" 120GB drive. And I got USB and Firewire hubs built in as well.
