The purpose of owning guns isn't suppose to be for fear of other Americans, but for fear of the government and to inspire a healthy fear of The People back in the government.
Exactly! However, many-a-time I've been made fun of for lugging a copy of O'Reilly's Perl book or one of those Teach Yourself C in 24 Hours books with me into the john.
Exactly. Sensationalism pisses me off like nothing else. You can call the story whatever you like -- it's not going to make it a bigger deal just because you make it sound scarier.
But hey, it's only Slashdot. CNN's title was "NORAD looking for Russian rocket in Wyoming".
Do you understand what's being discussed here? It's NOT how to keep your laptop from being stolen. It's how to protect its contents in case it IS stolen. Not trying to prevent theft -- trying to make sure your data doesn't fall into the wrong hands.
The increased hole size is caused by BELOW AVERAGE temperatures in Antarctica.
From TFA: The temperature of the Antarctic stratosphere causes the severity of the ozone hole to vary from year to year. Colder than average temperatures result in larger and deeper ozone holes, while warmer temperatures lead to smaller ones.... The temperature readings from NOAA satellites and balloons during late-September 2006 showed the lower stratosphere at the rim of Antarctica was approximately nine degrees Fahrenheit colder than average, increasing the size of this year's ozone hole by 1.2 to 1.5 million square miles.
GLOBAL COOLING!!! I don't know what's happening here... warming? cooling? What does it mean anyways, that Antarctica is colder than usual?
Raise your hand if you have iTunes...
Raise your hand if you have a FireWire port...
Raise your hand if you have both...
Raise your hand if you have $400 to spend on a cute Apple device...
There is Apple's market. Pretty slim, eh? I don't see many sales in the future of iPod.

Even funnier is that the above quote was modded up to a 4: Insightful.
More Here.
Clearly we don't have enough guns.
Yarg!
MON863, the variety of GM maze in question...
I swear that originally the first instance of maize was incorrect as 'maze' as well.
Is there some natural law which states that anybody trying to correct somebody else will almost certainly also make a mistake him/herself?
Curses!
Maize = 1. (chiefly in British and technical usage) corn1 (def. 1).
Maze = 1. a confusing network of intercommunicating paths or passages; labyrinth.

It's legality is questionable and it's a horrible system that leads to corruption.
We learned in elementary school that you aren't supposed to use an encyclopedia as a source! Especially one freely editable.

These RFID coins are clearly the work of Canadian Terrorists trying to harm the American people.
