What argument? GM (Chevy/GMC/Pontiac/blah) 0wnz. Ford isn't worth a fraction of what I spent purchasing food to generate the energy I wasted typing this sentence.
Wow, you're one of the few who actually read and understood =) I'm just about fed up with/.ers who refuse to think. Even CmdrTaco missed something, for some reason he thought the author was dwelling on an explanation of source code. Perhaps I should review..
"...The mass media did a pretty good job describing the Internet and even Java for ordinary businesspeople. But Linux baffled them..."
His closing statement makes it even more obvious that he has a clue. He wants Linux supporters to explain to the suits why they should give Linux any attention. Don't confuse them by showing them how to compile a kernel. They don't care. Money talks. If they can save some, they'll love Linux.
Woah! That just brought something to my attention... look at that date. Two digit date field? Do I smell a lame ass programmer somewhere in the lineup? I assume (hope!) there won't be a Y2K problem, but any programmer I've talked to worth $1/hour has used a 4 digit date field for at least the last 3 years. Phew, that was fun.
Sorry, Jeremiah. As you've obvioulsy discovered he meant PS[X]2. However, in rewriting the headline from a previous article, he backspaced over the "X" and didn't notice.;)
Actually, for about half the price of a low end harley, I'm about to buy a Suzuki GSX1300R crotch rocket with a 1298cc engine that will toast _any_ harley as long as I remember to keep my front wheel on the ground when I hit fourth gear. You'll hear the engine for about 1s. Sorry if you're jealous but it sounds nothing like a chainsaw. =) By the time you're about to shift your "man's machine" into 4th gear, I'll be about a mile up the road.
Hrm. Maybe you're confused... how can you compare NT's "client/server" approach to X? The main client/server functionality built into NT is user authentication and file sharing, and X is responsible for neither of the two. I've never heard of setting NT's $DISPLAY; perhaps NT can't forward command prompts, etc? Also, keep in mind that the WM is seperate from the X Window System. Sorta like Microsoft's browser is seperate from their OS. Well okay, maybe not.

Good. As soon as our 4x100 ethernet cards show up, I'll see how it performs on a Beowulf, probably will only take minor tweaking. Something tells me there'll still be a need for more bandwidth. =]
Wow, look, I have a nick and..:gasp: I just posted this message. Its so amazing, wait.. now I click "submit" right? WOooooOo
And, back on topic for a moment.. good luck convincing people to ban AC postings. Why don't you try making an argument instead of random useless threats? What a concept!
The really interesting part of the abstract that nobody has mentioned yet was the brief reference to self-assembly of 3D structures. This is a fairly obvious next step, but only time will tell where this can bring the computing world... if theres a company out there with guts to bring something that revolutionary to market. I wonder what Transmeta would say...

Read the article. These specs will change. Common sense tells you that Nintendo won't release an inferior console. Look at the N64 vs. Playstation.

Good, then I can post two "first post" messages, and we're back where we started =D

Okay, just as long as I wasn't off the mark by complaining that the "DexDrive" won't help ya out in this case. Hrm... GameShark... must find one.
Sure, that'd be wonderful. Too bad Zelda64 stores games on the cartridge, not the memory packs. Or did I miss something? D=

Finally, since I can't have penguins living in my walk-in freezer, I get to have some virtual pets!
