I don't even have the keyboard for my transformer. Never bought it because I wasn't too sure how much I really needed it. I don't generally use mine to type all that much. I mostly just use it for reading. Google reader's tablet version is pretty decent and I spend a lot of time there. And some angry birds on a tablet is great when I get tired of reading. I could never get into playing it on a phone screen. I like the 10 inch version of the game much better.
Work gave me thinkpad with win 7. I leave it at the office most evenings. Otherwise, I have an eee pad transformer that I use at home. That is all I really need.
I have an Asus w3v laptop that is nearly 10 years old. Still using it with Ubuntu today. The battery doesn't work any more, even with a new battery. so it mostly just stays plugged in now. but I don't really have a problem with that.
I have the first Transformer and I use it in front of the TV all the time to surf and play games during the evening. The only thing I use a laptop for outside of work is to talk to the family on skype. I only do that because my external webcam gives a much better picture than the Transformer's built in cam.
If you are reading this, and I know you probably are, then fuck you! Also, fuck the American government and the united states military. I don't support any of you jerks. That is all. Sincerely, darjen
Once the novelty of it wears off, people will realize it isn't really all that much better than Android's current voice search. Meanwhile, Android is light years ahead of iOS in terms of Google app integration. Which is where the platform is absolutely most useful in my life.
It is almost certain that anyone who exposes the political establishment's corruption is bound to be railroaded by bogus accusations. They WILL find a way to get you.
Sure, states have been cutting, but federal spending has been rising even more. Government has never been good at keeping costs down, whether it is war, education, or roads. It is unbelievable they can spend $17,000 per student on primary education and still have such a crappy system. They will never be efficient at anything they do. As Ludwig von Mises explained back in the 1920s, it is the nature of systems that are not subject to market price competition.
Actually, history supports me. Before the student loan bubble really started to get going, it was possible for my parents and grandparents to work their way through higher education with summer jobs and part time work. In every single other industry that is subsidized by federal money, those prices end up increasing too. Such as farm subsidies for ethanol increasing food prices, for example. It's really not that difficult to understand.
You may be a successful software developer, but you don't understand economics very well. Lowering federal student loan support will decrease the demand for degrees. This will cause demand for college to drop. Therefore, the price of degrees will also drop to more affordable levels.
I haven't heard of one single death coming as a direct result of Wikileaks revelations. However, they have brought to light a whole heap of corruption and cover ups. They have done WAY more good than harm (if any harm at all). Personally, I think the people who like power and war just enjoy using that as an excuse to bash Wikileaks. Those in power and money also control the media and try to portray Wikileaks in the worst light possible. Things like Wikileaks just might be the only thing that will save democracy from collapsing on itself.
I would say that first mover advantage should typically be enough to cover their costs. If it doesn't work out, then maybe their idea or implementation wasn't good to begin with. Even if we got rid of patents, there would still always be R&D. It is human nature to invent things that improve our way of life. Just because you come up with an idea doesn't mean you should be the one who gets extremely wealthy through artificial government protection. If you have a good enough idea, and implement it wisely in a way that will benefit lots of people, that in itself will make you wealthy. There were countless inventions that benefitted society long before the United States patent office got their grubby hands in the pot.
sorry, but you are dead wrong. you are deluding yourself if you think we had any semblance of a free market over the past 30 years. especially with the financial system.
there was something close to a free market 300 years ago. but that was soon abandoned, starting with the constitution and going downhill quickly from there.
Why don't you think a "free for all" would work? Intellectual Property is an imaginary, fictitious concept. Assigning ownership of ideas to people is a bad for society. Practically all of our technology advancement was built on the knowledge of our ancestors in one way or another. If they keep up the horribly naive idea of patents, we will see new and innovative tech slowly grind to a halt.
TEPCO is a direct descendant of Japan's once nationalized industry. So there is nothing natural about it. If the industry was more fragmented, there would be far fewer people affected by one single company's failure.
the size of the federal government and the body of regulation has grown every single year over the past 30 years. furthermore, blaming our current situation on "trickle down economics" is absolutely ludicrous. it is government institutions like central banking and the federal reserve that have caused most of our problems.
you are truly living in fairy land if you think we have anything even remotely close to libertarianism.
You probably aren't aware of this, but there used to be hundreds of private turnpike companies until the government took them all over. They used the mythical excuse of "natural monopolies" to do this. Thus, government is actually the one who created the monopolies where there used to be healthy competition. Same holds true for the telecom and utility industries.
You are the one smoking crack if you honestly believe we had libertarianism for 30 years. There are so many things wrong with your idiotic assertion I don't even know where to start.
I told my wife that Google names all their operating systems after desserts in order of the alphabet. She seriously thought I was kidding and was trying to make her sound gullible. For the record she does use a Droid Eris. She just doesn't really care what operating system is on it.
I kind of agree with you about extended periods. I still play with my kids and read to them and take them to the zoo and the park and the library. But mixing in some TV time won't kill them either.

Are you telling me you know for a fact that Assange is guilty? Were you there looking through the window when the incident happened?

If humans are not capable of governing themselves, they sure as hell aren't capable of governing others.
If you know of a way for a democracy to continue operating without corruption, while supposedly keeping the people in charge, I would like to hear it.

deregulation... no true scotsman... lol, you really have no idea what the fuck you are talking about. I stand by what I said.
You are the one smoking crack if you honestly believe we had libertarianism for 30 years. There are so many things wrong with your idiotic assertion I don't even know where to start.
Using your logic, pretty much anything can be defined as the responsibility of the Federal Government.
I could be wrong, but I don't think your interpretation lines up with the original intent of the document.
