I have been doing this for a few years now. I even pay for a Tivo subscription because the basic channels just come through unmolested. My dad is a cable tv exec and he said most cable companies just leave the lower channels open like this. I refuse to pay for HD cable because it is so damn expensive. So this gives me the best compromise. The local HD channels all pass through, and most football games are on one of these OTA channels. I also get the fastest residential internet they offer. So they are still making money off me.
A couple months ago, I got a used iPhone 4 for my wife and put a GoPhone sim in there. So far it has not happened to me. I just add voice minutes as needed. I don't bother with data.
I transferred my old number to my iPad's data only connection. I still get the occasional Google voice email from someone trying to call that number, so I know if anyone was trying to reach me. I am now on prepay only for voice and iPad for 3g, which is a lot cheaper than Verizon's voice + data smartphone plan.
I am an American and I also work 37.5 hours a week. I work in the IT department of a large well known manufacturing company, and our hours are typically 8:30-5. And people here are almost always gone at 5. However, before this place I worked at a few different small consulting shops, and they worked tons of overtime. That is probably why I didn't last long in those places and ended up here.
what if they do a search for you and find your second profile? they could accuse you of hiding things from them and you will still end up not getting hired.

If you have been unemployed for 6 months and you really need the job, walking out may not be the best possible option.
Hopefully when you graduate and get a real job, you will become a little more mature. Until then, go back to your mom's basement and please shut the hell up.
You don't think it is idealist to say that there will never be a better form of government than democracy? How dare anyone over 15 have the temerity to think there is even a slight chance we will ever be able to improve society!
The reason Somalia is fucked up is precisely because of the numerous past (and ongoing) attempts by militaristic democratic governments to impose a national state on the various tribal groups there.
It works well enough most of the time that I don't think that is necessary. Plus I got it used off Craigslist... Though if I had to the guy did give me his receipt.
It's more than just bad apps. I got an iPad a couple weeks ago and safari has crashed several times. I never have more than 5 tabs open. I have also had Skype crash as well, but I don't know how well that code is written.
1. Capitalism did not end communism. Communism collapsed under its own weight, because central planning is inherently unstable as a means of organizing society's productive capacity.
2. Copyright laws are entirely a creation of government, not capitalism. Our democratically elected congress people are the ones who extended length of copyright.
The US doesn't need Iran to attack it. The US can make something up and claim it was an attacked, which has happened many times before. Like in Iraq, Vietnam, Korea, etc.
I've owned the Transformer and the Nook Color (which I rooted and installed CM7). Sold them both and got a Galaxy Nexus. I would say this phone completely removes my need to have a tablet. The size is great and it has an excellent 720p screen. If I ever need something bigger, I will probably just get a netbook. The coming Cedar Trail netbooks sound fast and are supposed to handle HD nicely.
I got my wife a used iPhone 4. Then picked up a sim from AT&T at their retail store. Put it on a pay as you go plan. Cheap smart phone plan, as long as you don't talk all that much. If you talk more, you could always install the skype app.
I work in the IT department for a large manufacturing company. Most of the managers here worked their way up. My direct boss has been there for 11 years, and his boss for 22 years. They treat people well where I work, and they tend to stay around for a LONG time.
The United States spends more on the military than the next 20 countries combined. They have had more wars than any other single country in the past 50 years. The US military has bases in over 150 countries. They have supported and installed US friendly brutal dictators in the middle east, africa, and south america. And you're trying to compare this to Chechnya? Seriously? I'm not saying Chechnya was not bad. But it PALES in comparison. It's a drop in the bucket compared to the warmaking of the United States.
If the United States military invades, occupies, or bombs your country for decades, I can see why people in Arab lands might get angry and would want to eventually fight back at some point. If you are defending yourself against attacks to your home, that is generally considered to be Good by most reasonable standards. The United States is by FAR the most aggressive military nation in the world.

Because government's track record is so much better?

Sooner or later, people will have to learn that they can't always believe or trust everything they read. especially on the internet.

If someone was doing this while I commute to work, and I wasn't able to use my 3g connection, I would be pissed.

Democracies enthusiastically bombed millions of innocent civilians during the past century. I don't think they have much of a moral leg to stand on.
I like this one from Thoreau's Civil Disobedience:
"That government is best which governs not at all"; and when men are prepared for it, that will be the kind of government which they will have.
It's amusing how much people enjoy posting this quote. Although it's a nice little ditty, unfortunately Winston is quite incorrect.
