I want to agree with you so badly but this line is unforgivable:
You wrecked the economy, crushed the housing market, and saddled me with student loans that can never be forgiven and that will garnish my wages even after death.
I don't know who you think "you" is but when I'm reading it, it's me, and I resent that you would try to blame me for these and one of them, I resent that you'd try to blame anyone other than yourself. It's unfortunate you took that approach because the rest of your post was fairly reasonable.
Doesn't this artificially inflate album sales for U2? I mean, it sounds like iTunes has record of millions of customers "purchasing" their new album. Sure, it was $0 but the charts don't ever talk about how much the average price for an album is.
Um... The summary talks about fitting this on people out of jail on parole. Those (generally) aren't cops. The idea of putting it on cops themselves is an afterthought in the summary.
I agree with you, but that doesn't mean I think they shouldn't make & market them. Who knows, maybe this will turn into something I find useful in a few years. As for now, this is overpriced for its capabilities and I don't like the extreme level of vendor lock-in we're seeing here -- but other people won't mind those factors and they are welcome to be the guinea pigs!
I want to agree with you so badly because the GP is an obvious troll... but... Don't have to wait to do what until your kid is dead? There's no vaccine. Are you suggesting everyone should take their kids for asthma therapy right away?
And THAT is why it's news. Because it's a surprise and we are caught unprepared for it.
This may not be practical, but I'm still glad to see companies driving bigger displays with higher resolutions. It wasn't that long ago that our cell phones had better resolutions than our 55" TVs. I can't wait to see where technology takes us next!
"How the outdated hammer still holds a monopoly on garages"
What makes it outdated? It does everything it needs to do without being bloated. Not everything has to have a touch screen and wi-fi, you know.
I *do* think the mac pro looks like a trash can, and I worry about things being set on top of it and causing worse heating problems. Just saying, the alienware doesn't have those problems but it is going to be hard to fit the alienware design in with most decor.
Ya, this article showed up in my feed today which seems like an obvious slashvertisement to me, too: http://build.slashdot.org/stor...
They've been pretty bad about this lately.
Ya, I have to imagine they were talking about iPods and typoed the iPad --- I'm pretty sure there never was a 3.5" iPad, at least not on the market.
Also, agreed, this sounds like a very obvious slashvertisement for the specific phone they are referring to. Especially this part:
the $20 phone can do Acapela TTS, includes a 4GB memory card and works with cards of up to 32GB--easily enough for scads of pre-loaded books. Plus, the WiFi is great.
I have completely stopped drinking sweet drinks (including fruit juices and artificially sweetened drinks).
Just want to point out, I think this is the big thing that everyone seems to miss. You can cut out soda all you want, but fruit juice can be just as bad for you and you should cut back on it, too. It is chock full of calories and sugars and sometimes acids -- Orange Juice has the same effect on your teeth as Coke, for example.
I'm anything BUT an Apple fan, but I think their new design for the Mac Pro is better looking and probably more functional from a shape perspective than this idea from Alienware. Glad to see manufacturers trying new things, but I hope they keep looking.
I don't understand how this fits in to Google's business model. Amazon, I understood -- but Google is an advertising firm. They don't sell tangible products that require delivery. Why do they care about how things are delivered when they don't deliver anything?
Your evidence is that you don't believe anyone can type 15 words with decent grammar in less than 30 seconds? Boy, I can't wait to hear your theories about 9/11...
I was with you until you referenced psychic/emotional violence. Psychic violence is probably a very different thing from psychological violence which you probably intended to refer to. Psychic violence sound more like someone with ESP is angry.
I'm guessing the reference is to Hobby Lobby, which is not really a small business.

Yes, but it could have a large effect considering the small number of vehicles that need to be affected, which might make it more reasonable.
That was a GREAT answer!

That may matter to the 5 people who watch MSNBC...

"1" + 1 in Java or C# will give you 11 just like it does in Javascript. I don't understand why Javascript is getting blamed for this one.
How does that make it outdated?

Either way, this is a terrible story.
What activity do you always do?

Thanks, I thought it was funny, too. Wasn't looking for up mods, but I think whoever modded down must be having a bad day.

How do you figure? Hollywood made much of its money doing exactly that.
Just curious, what would your opinion be if the question here was putting cameras on every street corner?
