I can also second this. Very good system. Fast and feature packed. Even has a screenshot client

  2. Gaming making it on to TV on Videogames Aim For Olympic Recognition · · Score: 1

Over in the UK we're getting our first proper online gaming TV show this June. 1 show a week on a little-known satellite channel. It's from a company called Prize Fight and it's called Prize Fight TV. PF seem to do online gaming for cash prizes, and from what I gather they'll be using the show as a sort of highlights package for CSS, Q3 and BF2 (lol BF2 has highlights?) games. Their website is here.

  3. Tried it, too bitty on TurboGears: Python on Rails? · · Score: 3, Informative

Tried TurboGears, but the fact that it's a glue was way too appparent. I then moved on to trying Django and fell in love. All the stuff TurboGears can do Django can too, but natively.

The roadmap is coming along. It's basically feature complete, they're just fixing bugs at the moment and sorting some usability issues. I'm using the development version for a small project to get to grips with it before I use the release version for my main project. By the time you're ready for any serious stuff, I expect 1.0 will be ready. It's not gonna be one of these OSS things that stays in beta forever

  6. PHP? Switch to Python and Django on Which PHP5 Framework is Your Favorite? · · Score: 0, Troll

I've been exclusively PHP for a number of years now, but the lack of innovation in frameworks and the OO limitations in PHP have lead me to Python. Python has a great up-and-coming framework called Django which was covered on slashdot recently. I've switched over to this and can see my productivity shooting right up once I've got to grips with it

  7. PHP equivalent on Django: Python's Rapid Web Development Framework · · Score: 1

I'm currently half-assedly developing a similar deal for PHP, but it lacks a lot of the features of Django. Anyone know of a PHP equivalent? Don't say Prado or whatever it was that won the PHP Coding contest or whatever recently, that seems to me like killing an ant with a nuclear warhead

Exactly. Google feature on Slashdot so much because they do in fact make so much news. They're easily the busiest tech company around at the moment, and one of the biggest projects (including Open source projects here, prolly next busiest is Gnome?). I enjoy reading all the Google news, mainly because it actually IS news.
