Aside from his oversimplifications regarding the simplicity of race car ECM's (they are NOT more simple than any street car, some of our FSAE cars have been more complex, and it sounds as if theirs was too).
He does make some good points, simple and purpose built hardware often make for the best suited devices.
If the computer in the F1 car shares anything with Windows Mobile, it is the wrong direction. The software and hardware should be exactly what the car needs to run, nothing more nothing less, and it should be made expressly for that purpose, to ensure that it is the proper fit.
yes, and Apple is very clear on this if you ask. Adobe applications arent native on these new intel-macs either.
Just wait, last I heard Final Cut, and Adobe are scheduled to be released late this year in Intel native versions, then they'll be far faster than they ever were on g4 powerbooks.
I dont disagree. It's definitely marketing speak and an atrocious use of the word leverage to make a point. I commented to simply state that leverage can be used as a verb.
While leverage is a noun in some contexts, it can also be used as a transitive verb. As is being done in this case. If you're going to correct someone's diction, at least check a dictionary first.
rampant
Pronunciation: 'ram-p&nt also -"pant
Function: adjective
Etymology: Middle English, from Middle French, present participle of ramper
1 a : rearing upon the hind legs with forelegs extended b : standing on one hind foot with one foreleg raised above the other and the head in profile -- used of a heraldic animal
2 a : marked by a menacing wildness, extravagance, or absence of restraint b : WIDESPREAD
i still fail to see how a rate can be rearing, or widespread.... Piracy can certainly be described as rampant, but a rate can be large or small or many other adjectives, just not rampant.
in a normal engine, when you burn diesel you dont actually get all of it burned.
If you commit a little of the combustion cycle to creating hydrogen and oxygen that you can add to the mix, you can get a lot more of the unburnt hydrogen burned, hence you can get a larger total percentage of fuel burned, and therefore more power, less pollution in the form of unburnt and/or partially burnt fuel, and due to the higher power burn, more MPG's.
It's far from impossible. It can most definitely be done with easily accessible technology.
However it IS FAR from feasible. It would be laborious and time consuming and woefully inefficient. In the end it would probably cost thousands of dollars per gallon, or more!
This happens in all industries to some degree or another.
Some car engines just make more hp than others and there's nothing that the manufacturer can do about that. They're all sold with the assurance that there is "at least" the rated numbers (unless youre mazda)
If you buy a mac mini right now. youre guaranteed that it'll have X specifications. buy it assuming youre gonna get that and all you can get is pleasantly surprised. theres no harm.
The ONLY people that should be frustrated by this are people who are specifically trying to buy a 1.42 for whatever reason (matching specs in a lab or something of that sort).
Thats cause youre wrong.;-)
It has a toyota 2ZZ-GE 4 cylinder putting out just shy of 200bhp at the crank. The engine is apparently distantly related to the Celica's 1ZZ-GE engine.
The lotus also shares the celica's gearbox. Which works nicely as its transversely mounted along with the engine in the Celica for front wheel drive.
But, when mounted behind the driver it makes for a mid-engined rwd fun-box.
GMail requires that you verify all the accounts you add before you can send from them. Due to this fact, you cant use 'a non-existant[sic] mailinator account'. Unless you've figured out how to check an e-mail account that doesn't exist.
Kidding aside, this is an interesting step. Convienient for some and totally useless for others.
Receiving e-mail from other POP accounts makes a lot more sense, as it concentrates your e-mail in one place, and gets you more time looking at their ads. It's also more convienient for the end user than having to check 3, 4, or more e-mail addresses.
I do know where my car is within 10cm... and i think that more drivers should know this, itd probably help avoid may accidents where people think they're close enough. Too many people have backed into my car parallel parking.
and I agree that a 10cm margin when compared to the dimensions of an aircraft ends up being a rather small percentage compared to the length of an automobile, a small percentage that is probably good enough to work.
But, if one soldier that dies because of that small margin there'll be hell to pay with the american public.
Theres a time limit to make sure that no one tries this... i believe you have ten hours from when you start to finish the ~150mi course... you do the math.
(Assuming no traction control or active stability management or some such thing) there are many cars that can overpower the brakes that they're equipped with especially with an automatic. My volvo can... and ive used it to my advantage off road in a toyota 4x4... and i keep my cars well maintained.
i dunno about the qwerty thing, i have a friend that does 140+ gwpm on a regular qwerty keyboard and has that same phone and i smoke him with a standard pad and T9 Predictive. Ive never been impressed with those phones, buttons are too small to be effective (at least with my fat fingers).
doesnt have to melt... all you need to have is for it to become plastic (in a materials sense)... just because it does not liquify, doesnt mean that it doesnt change properties... if youre gonna argue, at least know your subjects. I recommend a class on metal working, you could use some education on grain growth and crystalline structures.

I disagree...
Just because ends do not solely justify means, does not mean that ends should not be a consideration, nor that ends cannot help to justify means.
That said, I do believe that narrowminded simplifications do not justify overrated posts.yes, and Apple is very clear on this if you ask. Adobe applications arent native on these new intel-macs either.

Did you check that before you posted it? It's listed as both a noun and a verb in the OED.
While leverage is a noun in some contexts, it can also be used as a transitive verb. As is being done in this case. If you're going to correct someone's diction, at least check a dictionary first.

So then, what is it doing?
If you're able to calculate it, and have "nothing to do with it", surely you could be so kind as to educate a curious nerd such as myself.
this really isnt so hard.

My mistake on that. Point withdrawn with shame ;-)

did you go to the page. it says 100 users.
where are you getting your citation-less info?
it was a joke... get a freakin sense of humor.

ever heard of a brake stand?

One button?
You obviously don't have a mac, do you?
nor read anything, its got two buttons and a selectable scroll wheel.
even better, steam blowing past it, due to steam's much higher specific heat capacity.
