    SCOTUS reversals of their own decisions are rare, Roe v Wade and many other controversial decisions will stand. With all the mud slinging that will be going on I doubt much focus will be on actual politics or decisions.

    For the TSA to succeed in their mission they must catch the bad guys EVERY time, for the bad guys to win the TSA needs to miss once. The purpose of "random" screening and id checks is to discourage the low funded bad guys from trying. The higher funded ones that have enough money to circumvent the security measures intelligence must be used. The system is not perfect but it is the best we have.

    They spread the risk, within a group of people with similar risk. A person with multiple accidents will pay more then a person with a clean record, not because they are trying to make up the costs but because there is a higher probability that person will be in another accident.

    The only way to verify that voting fraud is not committed is to get rid of anonymity, until then all voting systems can be compromised.

    The military could use contractors to house their computers. Since there would not be a lot of cost associated with this just adding it in as a task to all military contracts would make sense.

    There are two things I learned at the help desk. 1st that I was a computer janitor to the users. 2nd it is best to assume the user is incompetent, I can remember a few times where I wasted an hour or two because I listened to a user who I assumed was intelligent.

    Thinking about this like letters would make it easier to understand. If a person dies their next of kin would receive the letters, the people that sent the letters gave them to the deceased and have not right to them. Emails and my space postings are not the property of the person who is sending/posting them, they are the property of the parents and the parents can do with them what they choose.

    There's an easy work around to this, just add a popup window saying "YOUR COMPUTER HAS WORMS PRESS OK TO FIX!" The majority of the people with worms on their computers would not think twice about pressing it.

    11)Don't expect the guys at radio shack, best buy, or circuit city to know squat about antennas, if they tell you they have HD antennas they are complete morons or thieves trying to get your money. People that know about antennas will have a PHD in front of their name and be members of IEEE.

    12)VHF antennas will be large if the longest element is less then a meter it is a poor VHF antenna (VHF channels have a wavelength of 1-5m the shorter the element the less gain I'm over simplifying but good rule of thumb).

    13)The higher your antenna the better your reception if you have guy wires for your antenna tower you are high enough

    14)Don't use the coax you have had for a long time it may be the wrong type RG-59/U which is crap at shielding use RG-6/U if the cable doesn't run by power cables and the RG-6/UQ if it does.

    15)Make sure you ground your antenna your signal will increase and you precious electronics will be protected against surges. Don't use the ground the rest of your house uses your signal will decrease every time you turn the microwave on.

    To tamper with the Machines, which are not on a network, one would need to go to each machine. There are a few for each polling place so you would need the poll workers in on it at each place and tampering with the program thats loaded on each machine you would have the same problems as tampering with the ones for paper. There is no way to make any form of voting tamper proof unless aninimity is given up. Where you get a card saying who you voted for (in case of a discrepancy) and you can review yours and everyone else's votes after they have been cast.

    Couldn't agree more they have multiple unknowns and one data set which doesn't take into account the increase in power consumption form year to year and no side to side comparisons.
     
     

    They conclude that the reduced cost of lighting in afternoons during daylight-saving time is more than offset by the higher air-conditioning costs on hot afternoons and increased heating costs on cool mornings.

    So I'm supposed to believe that moving the clocks ahead an hour will increase my cooling bill with DT even though on ST I would be there an hour earlier. I declare shenanigans on this study.

    There was a case recently where instead of destroying counterfeit shoes they were able to donate them to children. I doubt they would give these to kids I'm sure you can get lead poising from just looking at the knockoffs.

    First of all the RIAA does not go after the individual who downloads songs they go after the person who allows others to download songs. This is one fact that seems to be ignored, the sharer simply rebroadcasts the work for others to enjoy. It would be like someone rebroadcasting a pay-per-view boxing match or showing it at a bar that only paid the individual charge. There was an infringement (they rebroadcast or redistributed with out the express written consent), this is not stealing, this is breaking the terms and conditions when service was purchased (which may not be disclosed and therefore invalid). Second when Karl stated that the music is a limitless resource he was saying the physical work has a limitless supply because it can be copied nearly infinitely with no direct cost. If as you state that by coping a work you are using up creativity and craft then the work would diminish as it was copied, this obviously does not happen which is why it is infinite.

    There have also been studies that show while people say they will vote for an African American but when they get inside the booth they don't. Also it's not a woman people would be voting for it is Hillary. Finally a person's religion has been played up before (Kennedy Catholic, Ellison Muslim) without success, the attacks can easily be viewed as attacks on the religion which will have the opposite effect by making people feel guilty for not voting for them.

    There's no way this effort was funded as a multiple node detection system, the problem is people like you hear this device COULD be put into cell phones and they immediately think the government, headed by evil Bush, is out to get you. I doubt these will be put into phones but rather given to Police and placed in other public areas (stop lights, airports, water treatment planes, ...), that would be no different then cameras in public areas now.
