I've seen quite a few websites that block me trying to paste in my password. Very frustrating when I let keepass generate my passwords and make them complex.
I don't know about you, but the amount of spam I'm receiving is decidedly higher in perhaps the last 2-3 months. Not sure what it is - Gmail used to be really good about catching it.
Seems to me like this will be an open invitation for hackers since you send and receive the funds by putting your full credit card number into their website. Who wants to give someone else their CC number so they can give you money?
I also use LogMeIn and Teamviewer. If I have an "active" party at the other end, Teamviewer is easier to get going. If I need to do remote support without someone at the other end, LogMeIn works better. But I've had enough times that I struggled getting someone to install LogMeIn (create account, download, etc) that Teamviewer wins out when possible.
I have been playing the closed beta for about 6 weeks. They have had some struggles, but that is to be expected with any beta. I find the game fun so far. It is certainly enjoyable for a "free" game. It's clear they want to explore the new micro-transactions market and see what they can do. I don't know how that will play out - you *CAN* play just fine without any of the "paid" items. What you can buy are items to change your appearance and XP and VP boosts which give you like 1.5x earning power for each of those as you play for the period of time that the item is valid.
While the servers have been up, they have been remarkably stable for me. I still have some questions about game balance, but that seems to come with just about any game in this genre...
Of course, there's this quote here from a govt. official:
If the device is successful the Government stands to lose more than $80 million in revenue collected from speeding fines, but Mr Daley says that is not a concern.
"The incidence of speed-related fatalities and injuries costs our community billions of dollars each year. If speeding revenues were to fall dramatically, I'd be the happiest roads minister in Australia," he said.
Yeah, right, I say. There is a local radio personality who always plays a quotation from our area water service. They say that since people have been conserving water and there is less usage, they now have to charge more for the water that the people *do* use. (boggle!)
They'll find something else to ticket/fine/tax people over on this....
Use a one-time use CC. Many credit cards offer them for fraud prevention during online shopping. You can time and value limit them. Should be the perfect solution to any risk with this, at least as far as the hackers taking advantage of you.
What about the license plate covers for defeating photo radar? They prevent clear pictures being taken from either side or above the license plate. Yet, the plate can be seen clearly from directly behind the vehicle. So unless they set up chase cars (unlikely) they could have a lot of people avoiding the tolls that way. And what about people who have invalid, incorrect, or outdated addresses on their registration?
You expected Can-Spam to help? All it did was define what were LEGAL methods for spammers to use, thus giving them even more loopholes. Anyone who thought that enforcement would be good was deluding themselves.
