  1. That's nearly perfect. on Toyota Demonstrates Brain Control of Wheelchair · · Score: 2, Interesting

Oh, good, I stand a relatively good chance of being able to stop myself before rolling into traffic. Although, to be fair, I'd much rather face a 5% error rate than have no control at all. Not to mention that's only one week of training.

  2. Old and New on The Last Games You'd Play? · · Score: 1

I'm sure I may have been beaten to it, but I have to suggest buying a Wii. Not only does it have the new controller and games, but you can also purchase an NES controller and classic games on its "shopping channel". It even lets you use GameCube games, controllers, and memory just as you would with a GameCube. Probably a good choice for anyone that may sadly bid farewell to gaming forever.

Ah!!! Slashdot has been invaded by spammers! since when are we interested in $1,999.99 laser pointers that are made from a $1,000 drive? First of all it's a rip off, and second it's not news. This is an ad in disguise.

  4. A possible solution on Funding for Technology Classes? · · Score: 1

I am also a high-school student faced with such a predicament. My school just added a huge fitness center, a new sports field, and a new softball field. All amidst huge district budget cutbacks that have forced us to turn down the heat during the winter, and consider cutting classes such as Applied Physics and Auto Shop. But there is a golden light among all of this, This year our school became one of the first in Illinois to offer courses from the Project Lead the Way Foundation . Forty-eight of my fellow students and I are now enrolled in the entry-level course called Introduction to Engineering. We can earn up to three collage hours, and the program offers up to six courses over three years and covers many different areas of engineering. Unfortunately for you they don't really offer computer science classes, but it is a technology and academics related class that may get the district's attention.

P.S. Some previous posts mentioned how a computer science class may suffer from small interest. At my school, the Project Lead the Way class had over one hundred fifty applicants. So many in fact that the teacher has decided to increase the number of people accepted next year from forty-nine to seventy by adding extra classes.

  5. Wrong way... on Will Pretty PCs Make Vista More Attractive? · · Score: 2, Insightful

I usually try not to just post opinion in comments but I really couldn't come up with any fact for this argument, so I guess it's philosophy from here on out.

I believe Microsoft went the wrong direction here. They attempted to change all hardware to suit them instead of making themselves adaptable to fit all, or most, hardware. It probably wouldn't be difficult for them, take the same amount of people that it took to make those design guidelines and tell them to make a few extra themes and colors for Vista.

Of course I could be wrong here It may be harder than that, I'm not sure. If I am wrong I would appreciate a reply a.s.a.p. correcting me for the benefit of anyone who may stumble across my ramblings.

Not Really, Prions are foreign proteins than convert regular proteins into identical molecules. aP2 on the other hand is a protein produced by the body that simply makes things worse. Of course, this is over simplifying a bit but you can read the article and the wikipedea article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prion and see for yourself.
